Perfect Getaway Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/5/07
I stayed one night at the Adobe in February 2007. The location is perfect. Unlike other lodging in the area, the Adobe is not on a busy street. It is way off the beaten path and is in a big garden setting. You feel like you're out in the country...until you walk three blocks and you're in the middle of a great downtown with shops and restaurants. The decor, details, and amenities at this historic adobe are as good as they get anywhere. The breakfast is simple and buffet style and is almost all organic. The place is just so relaxing and peaceful. I stayed in the Fireside room which is small but cozy with a fireplace. Weekday rate was $119. I highly recommend this spot.

Hated to spend only one night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/2/07
My wife an I spent a night early this week and loved the place. Agree with all the comments from Santa Barbara user. You don't really need to interact with the innkeeper as it's so well organized and equiped. When we're in the area again we hope there'll be a room available.

Most Relaxing Stay
By pepper, 11/12/06
Like: beautiful house, rooms and grounds. lots of privacy especially in the Look Out room (only room on the second floor). walking distance to downtown. free access to internet, books, magazines and movies. Dislike: Quality of the breakfast is not so good; seems like they went for the cheapest brand of juice, water, bake goods, etc...

Amazing B&B
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/23/06
My wife and I stayed at the Adobe after it was recommended to us by some very picky friends. We found this place to be very clean and organized as advertized but also charming and very relaxing. The architecture and attention to detail is just wonderful. Beautiful gardens, quiet tucked-away location on the edge of downtown, great in-room guide to activities and restaurants, peaceful and very quiet. Our room was delightful and our bed was the most comfortable I've ever experienced! I especially liked that we were given great independence. I talked for while with the innkeepers and the last reviewer just didn't get it. The people here try very hard to stay out of their guests way. This is not one of those B&B's where you are expected to make small talk all morning. The owners of this place don't like that about B&B's. They have designed the Adobe to give their guests lots of independence and stay out of their way. We loved it!

Not your ordinary B&B
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/20/06
Refreshingly, Adobe on Green St. in not your ordinary bed & breakfast. Forget lacey curtains and cabbage rose wallpaper because you won't find it here. What you will find is a tastfully understated decor with little in the way of superfluous clutter. That's not to say however that it is not beautiful or cozy. Quite the opposite. Adobe's decor is an exercise in quality over quantity. The home is true to it's old world roots where things are simple and have function, materials are unique and of high quality, and the feeling of "home" depends little on how much stuff one has accumulated. It's just delightful. Other highlights- internet computer available, great simple breakfast with organic options, lovely gardens, and great location to downtown. Only downside- I couldn't score large on service because we never actually met our hosts. They make arrangments for people to self-check in if no one is going to be around which was the case for us. Staff were around, but never really addressed us as guests. They could work on that.
