Long, Fond Memories
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/16/07
I taught my children to swim here. I have taken them down periodically since then, and am taking my youngest (16) tomorrow for a few days. If you want fancy niceties, go somewhere else. BUT..if you and a couple of guys, who don't even notice this kind of stuff, want to come down, hang out, and check out an area that is unbelievably historical and totally relaxing, then I'd pick it heads and shoulders over anything else out there. I've had a couple of rather memorable dates here, as well. The store is cool. Best of all, Earl Ransom and his family are the epitome of the friendliness and kindness that only come from this corner of the world, and from this kind of place. My goal is to come back as many times as I can for the remainder of my days; I wouldn't change a thing about this quiet haven. ps: bring your small children and teach them how to swim here.
