Tropicana Resort Hotel, Virginia Beach

Did not like this motel. We stayed for the weekend and the rooms was nasty, they had the worst smell about them and it did not help that the people staying next door was smoking. When you walk down the hallway, you are literally leaning and the carpets are horrible and the elevator hasn't been worked on in years. And the TV stations are bare minimal. You really do get what you pay for but this was inexcusable. I saw where someone posted about "continential breakfast", what breakfast? This place should be torn down and let someone else start over in its place.

There is a new General Manager and to see her smiles and her new fresh of breath air...we heard she came from Myrtle Beach and we can't wait to come back to see her again. She went out of her way to help us with our stay and we would absolutely come back there again! There is new owners and new management so don't discount the changes that are happening!

We checked in after midnight I stayed the whole night looking for different hotel, my kids were sleeping in the car becuse I couldn't let my kids sleep on dirty beds in very dirty room.the entire hotel smells very bad the hallway looks like a ghost house.We called Virginia beach health department and we filed a complain.We do not recommend this hotel for any human being

This place was the grossest and fowlest place in the world! The whole hotel smells like a bathroom, and the walls and carpet look like someone actually used them for a bathroom. The website says it was renovated in 2004... There is no way that this place has been renovated in the past 50 years. But if you must stay here be sure to bring a full body suit and delousing shampoo. I would recommend 19th & Atlantic Hotel (same price but clean and well-kept).

at first yes i was scared to stay here by all these comments. but once we got there is was nice. right when we got there we had people checking us in. Yes it is a new owner so many things have changed in the hotel. we stayed in the new part of the hotel which is nice. i would go back anyday. The people are wonderful yes parking is not so nice but ur at the beach why do you need to drive expecially with the traffic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a nice hotel right on the beach and on the board walk.

the # wasnt even there when i wanted to buy it !!!..wat is this well i wouldnt stay here i wanted good service not some service that wasnt worth my time.There wass a dirty room with dust in it, they need to start being more cleaner.

The hotel is not worth the money! It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There phones have no directions on how to dial out, and there is no alarm clock! What hotel doesn't provide these basics? The staff is awful, barely any speak good English. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is bad! This hotel should be ashamed to charge as much as they do. It is a joke. The only benefit is the location, which is why I stayed there. Spend a little more money, and stay somewhere else!

We stayed free for 1 night,Microwave didn't have the right time,Bathrooms were not good and it looked old.And we didn't want the free breakfast.I AM NOT GOING BACK THERE EVER AGAIN!!

first of all, when making our reservation, i specifically asked if a continental breakfast was served. i was informed that yes there was a continental breakfast. Lo and behold, no breakfast (had to go out). More importantly, the carpet in our room was so filthy and sticky, i had to wear socks the entire time (which turned black). i did mention it to a cleaning person, but nothing was done about it. our bedspread and matching pillows were filthy and very worn. the lights over the jacuzzi were not working (this was fixed, though, but came on in the middle of the night by themselves!!!). The jacuzzi was nice, but had an open compartment on the side with a thick, bright orange extension cord coming out of it. the hallway had a very unpleasant odor, which i haven't figured out exactly what it smelled like. I felt very let down by their website which shows a beautiful, clean hotel!!! Oh, and parking is across the street - very inconvenient!

This hotel is the worst one we have ever stayed. The room smelled like mariguana, very dirty, very humid and noisy. The "Continental Breakfast" was a big joke... coffee and mini muffins. Don't stay here you will regret!!!!
