After having lived and worked at the Leeland Hotel for two years I have found it to be a very safe and comfortable place to live. It is clean, secure and accomodating to those with special needs. Maid service is provided on weekdays, even most holidays, and is available on a limited basis as needed all other days. Likewise, it is intolerant of drug and alcohol abuse, excessive noise or behavioral problems. There is a staff person on duty 24/7, the halls are under constant video surrveilance and hall checks are commonly performed every two hours. Unlawful behavior may result in immediate eviction or arrest depending on the circumstances. No, there is no room service or chocolates placed on your pillows. Still, I feel the Leeland rates 5 stars for its unsurpassed contribution to community for over 70 years, most recently providing the least expensive while arguably the safest lodging in the area.
