I found the rooms to be much cleaner even though small, the staff was very friendly and helpfulas well. Since it was in full swing of summer the new a/c was very appreciated as well as the individual coffee pot in the room, saved us having to get out and about too early without having my morning java.
When the tornado warning went up, we had no warning. We didn't have power, and when the sirens sounded, many of us traveled downstairs to the lobby (ground level) only to find a note on the door that said "Tornado Warning take shelter at the high school". Well, with a tornado bearing down on us, let me get out a map and find the high school in an unfamiliar town. The person at the desk ran and hid and told NOBODY.
I was pleased to see the the remodling they had been working on were open and they look just great!! Even the older rooms have been redone and look so much better with the new carpet bedspreads and new drapes. It was quite a nice surprise to see that they are now offering coffee, shampoo and conditioner in the rooms as well. As for the management, whomever wrote that first review must have been part of the problem since when the crews across from our room got the least bit loud they were quick to ask them to please lower the level of the music,as for bbq....who doesnt love a good one....geeze people get a life
I found the Sands to be a very clean motel. It caters to work crews who do stay on a weekly basis. However it also caters to the over night traveler or family on vacation. The new rooms are spotless and nicly furnished. I found the hotels on site managment team to be very helpful and courtious. A great place to stay for anyone living on a budget!
