Mountain Empire Motel, Mountain City

I absolutely loved my stay at this motel. great service, friendly management, and great mountain views.

Overall, the worst motel I have ever stayed in - The linens dingy, the rooms were poorly lit, the carpet dirty - . Thought the beds had bed bugs from the black stuff on the sheets when we turned back the covers. We think it was just dirt after closer examination- The sheets were changed that night, but the "clean" ones were so old they had holes in them - We were supposed to stay two nights - when we returned from being gone all day long - the rooms had not been cleaned - beds unmade, dirty towels still lying on the bathroom floor - due to the report of winter weather coming in overnight, we were happy to not spend another night. If I ever visit there again, I would stay in Boone NC and drive to my destination in Mountain City.
