Reelfoot Lake Inn, Tiptonville

While this motel was fairly clean, it was very spartan in its accommodations. I choose this accommodation because they advertised free wi fi connections. We were never able to connect from our room; however, I could log on in the office. The room had no clock, no hair dryer, no clothes hangers, and no shampoo. Even though we were there for two days (and paid in advance at check in), they did not clean our room or bring us clean towels after the first day. My husband went to the office with our dirty towels to request fresh ones. A light bulb was burned out in our bathroon, and the sink was so small there was no room to put our toothbrushes, make up, etc. The continental breakfast consisted of taking items out of the refrigerator that had been opened and used previously. The cream cheese for the bagels had an expiration date of July 9th. We were there on August 28 and 29. When I called to make a reservation, I was given the impression that the lake was directly across the road from the motel. That was not the case. The lake was in view but quite a distance away. We were quite disappointed and would not stay there again. Reelfoot Lake itself is a botanical and geological gem, and I would recommend it as a site to visit, but I would choose another place to stay.

Our baseball team County line Allstars stayed here this weekend and we were treated so good here. The people who run this place are such wonderful people, they really do care about the people who stay. My son forgot his uniform belt and Mrs. Rodriguez took time to try and help me find him one. How many many people would have took the time out of their scedeule and helped? I would just like to say thanks again for your great hospitality. We had a wonderful time.
