Friendly, Comfortable New Mexico Charm
By Rachel, 04/06/09
I've stayed at the Abiquiu Inn twice now and always hope to go back. Once I stayed in one of their Plaza Blanca King Rooms and the second time I splurged on a Chama River Casita. The hotel tends to group rooms in separate clusters unattached to other types of rooms which are part of the Abiquiu Inn grounds. This also helps to lend to the feeling of intimacy. Both of these rooms are charming, immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The Plaza Blanca room has a lovely gas kiva fireplace and pillowtop mattress. They always include Thymes bath ammenities (which I love). The Chama suite has a separate enclosed, private back patio, separate kitchenette and also a pillowtop and standard fireplace. The rooms are quiet, extremely comfortable and I find are perfect for someone wanting time to relax. The hotel service has always been extremely friendly and helpful - I even received a lovely card in my hotel room when I was a repeat visitor - and they boast a lovely gift shop. The restaurant has good food at OK prices but the service there has always been mediocre (I often eat at the restaurant now that I'm not living too far from there). They do not serve alcohol but if one is wanting a nice after-dinner drink, there is a small store nearby. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting some time for relaxation and reflection or for anyone wanting a quiet, romantic getaway. I would love to stay there again.

Nice get-away place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/06
We stayed at one of casitas on one weekend in March. It was very nice and cozy - we had a fire place in the living room, small kitchen, and beds were comfortable. There are not much around the hotels, so if you're not looking for a convinience and want some isolated feels, this place is perfect. There are nothing around this place to eat unless you drive 20-30 minutes, but this hotel has a restraunt which served very good food! Two problems that we encountered were; no alcohols sold at this property (not even at restraunt), and they complained that we didn't tell them we needed our breakfast although it was included in the price.

Brilliant

I love this place. It is like adding paradise to a vacation. We didn't want to leave & in fact changed our travel plans to stay longer. Great, intimate rooms. Excellent food in the Cafe. Very, very pet friendly, bones for dogs - great.
