Phillips Motel, Walnut Ridge

Found hotel on internet review, stated it was the older motor hotel, but clean and functional. I was all that and more. Called the owner/manager by phone to make a reservation, said he would save us a room and didn't need the Credit card number. He was surprised I found him on the internet. The Plus's were, in center of town on a bypassed section of Hwy 67, rather quiet location but continent to walk to restaurants and 24 flavors of ice cream. Cheap, we stayed in a clean safe room for under $50. Parked right by our room door. Were allowed to have our CLEAN dog stay in a crate in the room. Owner gave us directions to a few restaurants in area. Felt safe walking around neighborhood at night. Oh, did I mention the room was Clean? linens smelled like bleach, including the bead spread and bathroom spotless. Plenty of hot water and towels for the big tub. The minus's were, rooms are dated, recliner chair has seen better days. The bathroom is dated and was not a lot of counter space in our room. This is a Vintage Motel, with the Neon sign out front and the owners name on the window. Don't expect the Ritz, but the is the best motel of its CLASS I have ever stayed in on my journeys across America.

This is a reasonably priced Motel and Mr. Kellim the proprietor could not have been nicer. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the food at nearby Moni's Place for breakfast each day. Our one regret was we did not try the good looking Bar B Q place across the street. We had a King room and it worked just fine! Seeing Walnut Ridge now is great because so many AR towns have already fully been rejuvenated on the Main Street. Walnut Ridge is just beginning this process and is in an exciting place in its development. What incredibly nice people everywhere we went.

we go down to walnut ridge every 2-3 years and even more when i was a youngster. the phillips motel for us represents home away from home. the owners are hardworking and pleasant people,they are a joy to do business with
