Bad experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/07
I made reservations for a 2 day romantic getaway based on the pictures on their web site. It advertised "Spacious rooms with two beds, private bath and a balcony view of the mountains". My wife and I arrived at 9 pm after driving all day from PA and one of the owners met us with a key and let us know they were going to bed. We discovered the room was small, had only 1 bed, the "private bath" was tiny and had only a shower. The room was stifling hot but had no AC and only 1 small window. The ceiling fan did nothing but circulate hot air. We opened the door onto the balcony and put a fan in the door but there was no screen and bugs were coming in. Adding insult to injury was the cloud of cigarette smoke from the room next door that billowed into the room. The owners had already gone to bed and we made the unfortunate decision to not wake them but rather leave a note and find other accommodations. I did leave a cell phone number for contacting me if they had any questions. When we arrived back in PA several days later we had a note in the mail stating they were charging us for both nights because of their 7 day cancellation policy. I explained that we didn't cancel since we did arrive but were rather dissatisfied with the unlivable (we could never have gotten any sleep in that heat) and unhealthy (my wife is allergic to smoke) accommodations but they seemed uninterested, stating that it was beyond their control and that was their policy. I learned a valuable lesson in asking ahead of time what a policy is with regards to dissatisfaction about the environment and also to always be rude and wake people up to voice my concerns.

Relaxing retreat
By Reese, 7/16/07
Very friendly owners, wonderful breakfast, and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were cute with a charm. The view was wonderful. Looking out of our balcony everym morning we saw a beautiful, misty sunrise. The setting is a perfect place for time away from the busy husstle and bustle of everyday life. The road leading to the in was a little winding road through Little Switzerland, but it was very easy to find. The rooms were comfortable, they are not large or very fancy, but great for just relaxing, reading, and enjoying the beauty of the area.
