Green Cove Motel/Trailer Camp, Tellico Plains

I recently spent the weekend @ The Green Cove Motel and it was great ! Yes the Motel is not the nicest place to stay but for the price you cant beat it ! As far as people saying there are bugs what do you expect when your next to a river and on top of a mountain. I have stayed at the Green Cove many many times and have NEVER saw a roach bug in the rooms. The ladys at the Green Cove store have always been courteous and as sweet as ever. I love the Green Cove Motel and Tellico and cant wait to go back ! It's wonderful ,relaxing ,beautiful and the trout fishing is great !!!!!!!!

This IS one of my best memories of me and my dad, Who has passed, And me and my son.. I love Green Cove and have been going since 1981. Have a trip planned for next month as well. Most awesome trout fishing known... And we have stayed in all three, Camp site's, Old motel, And new motel,,,..... The service and friendliness is alway's something to look forward to the next year, And as long as you know you ARE going into the wilderness, This place should never change exactly what they are doing! Who need's t.v. when you are trying to escape the everyday? Looking forward to many more memorie's!!!!!

we loved the location right on the river.It was so peaceful.All the people were very friendly and helpful. We did not see any of the drugs and partying some have wrote about.It is a very family friendly place.We have two young children and they love it too even though there is no tv or vidreo games.We are going back soon and we are very excited.Sure the motel is not fancy but it is still a great place to stay.

My entire life I have visited Tellico and Green Cove Motel with my grandfather, father, friends, family, and now that I'm raising a family of my own, I bring my boys. In all my life I have never once heard such BLASPHEMY from the mouth of any human being!! Green Cove is family-friendly and child-safe. Partying- none. Drugs- no no. Also, never once have I heard or endured any disrespect from Mr. or Mrs. Crow. They are very sweet people and care about their visitors.

Ir you want a place thats great for partying, drugs, and alchohol this is the placee for you!!!! We stayed up there during the weekend of June 18th and 19th. We stayed in room A-1 (the main room in the hotel) only to discover the neighbors in the room next to us were drinking beer heavily and smoking marijuana outside. They also brought a karaoke machine and continued to be loud and abnoxious all night. They played music at all hours of the night and continually woke everyone that stayed there up all night. It smelled nasty and they were very loud. We had an child about a year old with us as well that was exposed to these fumes. We actually saw them passing a joint around and so did the neighbors on the other side of us. We went to talk to Mr. and Mrs. Crow and they refused to do anything about it because they didn't want the bad press in the paper. When we asked for a number for the local authorities they refused to give it. I have been going there for nearly 30 years and my father had been going for more than 50. Mr. Crow chose money over what was right. When nothing was done we packed our stuff and left. I have never had an experience so awful like this. Never in a million years will I return or recommend this hotel. We came to the mountains for peace and quiet and never again will I stay at the Green Cove Motel. A place were alcohol and drugs are allowed! Do not stay at this Motel!!

I've been a regular at Green Cove in Tellico for over thirty years. The reviews some people have written are way off base and kind of funny. In all these years I have never seen a roach or the rooms in the condition a few have described. I'll bet these people wouldn't know a roach if they seen one. However, I have seen a few chipmunks out around the picnic tables, a cricket or two in the rooms but I am able to overlook the little things. Afterall, it is in the mountians. If this place is not good enough for these people let them keep their snooty butts at home. It will leave more room for those of us that like the place the way it is.

This was like stepping into paradise. I took my 3 kids and 2 puppies primitive camping right past the Green Cove store and fishing camp area. It was right beside the water. The most beautiful cozy camping area we've been to. This is what real camping is suppose to be like.

I visited this motel at recommendations of my friend with my two sons. We paid for 2 nights but after spending 1 night in one of the dirty, roach infested rooms, we left the next morning. Bathroom was completely filthy; blankets on bed had hair all over them; and floor had not been vacuumed or swept it appeared the entire year. We brought our own sheets and put them on top of the bedding and slept fully clothed. We did catch our limit on rainbow troutt but if we go back we will sleep in our vehicle rather than this eyesore they call a motel.

I have a family cabin in Tellico on Riddle Hill. I've grown up spending my summers there and springs also. The people there are like nowhere else. Their hospitality is second to none.I will tell anyone to go fishing and camping there. It's great.

I have many memories of Green Cove, My husband and I have been going to the most beautiful river in Tennessee for 30 years. My son has grown up fishing that river for trout. He's is almost as good as the local expert. The local caretakers are more than friends they are family. I can relax along the river by the campfire and read. There are no ammenities, but this is what we love about Green Cove, you can totally relax and the stress just melts away. I hope it never changes.
