University Inn, Cullowhee

Our room was on the back of a building: had to leave the car in front and walk through a narrow, unlit alley. It was pitch dark around the back, not even any light at the rooms. The owner had no flashlights and had to bring a match to see to put the key in the door. And was completely unapologetic. There was lots of stuff piled up around the other rooms in the back--they looked completely unused. There was a thick ring of black mold around the inner rim of the toilet, very visible as you approached the bathroom--couldn't miss it. The rim obviously hadn't been scrubbed in weeks or months. One of the locks on the door was broken. An interior light was burned out. Owner seemed completely unconcerned about any of this.

the rooms were very clean,the staff was wery nice and helpful,cindy&brad bend over backwards to help with any thing wou would want to make your stay nice.we will be back at end of month for a week. after cindy&brad left the place went down hill fast,not good to stay at now.

Great location near Western Carolina with clean rooms that have been recently updated. The huge fireplace in the lobby is a real treat during the cold winter months and this mountain location is tucked away off the main road and surrounded with majestic forests. The very helpful staff was there to make our stay enjoyable. I have visited the area in the warmer months and can recommend the "raft and rail" trip out of Dillsburo for the adventurous.

Our family stayed here over the thanksgiving holidays and had the most relaxing time of our lives! The beautiful lobby was decorated for Christmas and the fireplace was burning the whole time we were there. The rooms were very clean and nice and the service from the entire staff was fabulous!!. We have already booked our next trip to Western Carolina at the University Inn!

We had a similar experience as "The first room was infested with roaches, the next room placed in was discustingly infested with some kind of bug that made everyone itch uncontrollably! This place should be closed and completely exterminiated!!!! GROSS!!!" Will NEVER stay there again and will make sure my family and friends wont go there either!

From the time we walked through the front door we were greeted by the manager bradley and his wife cindy. From the courtious service to the homemade cookies that cindy had prepared, our stay was already off to a great, relaxing start. When we went to our room and opened the door we were very pleased with the overall cleanliness of the room. Very nice!! We were there for a function at the University with many other guests and all of us were very pleased with the whole expierience at the University Inn! I had read the previous reviews before booking our room and to be honest were a little leary at first but after talking to others in our group, we decided to go ahead and book our rooms. That was the smartest thing we could have done!!! My wife and I highly reccomend the University Inn for any of your traveling plans. We have already booked two futere dates with brad and cindy and will reccomend the Inn to all our friends.

I had a horrible experience at University Inn during my rental of one of their efficiency rooms. It was dirty and the housekeeping was poor and inconsistent. The toilet was not cleaned during a month stay. The manager was also dishonest in quoting rates and then changing the rates at time of payment. Place was gross and unprofessional. Worst motel experience ever!!!!
