I'll stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/07
We arrived there to find a clean room. Kind of sparse, but it was ok. No internet, no WiFi and no phone in the room. You had better get what you want before 9pm because the office closes then and dosen't reopen until 6am the next morning. Beds were confortable....its an older motel, but still, its was clean and comfortable and that is all I really care about. It is in a pretty good location, just down the street from the Hatteras Lighthouse. As a matter of fact, all the lighthouses from Hatteras north on Highway 12 to the Currituck Lighthouse in Corolla can be driven too in a day....all can be seen in one day. Very closs to good fisihing areas and lots of bait and tackle shops. I'll stay there again.

Great Value!
By Dave Chase, 09/04/07
First things first...those expecting the Four Season's need to get a grip on reality. The OBX does not have these types of accomodations available...anywhere. That having been said, the Falcon is one of my favorite places to stay on "The Banks". Clean, but modest rooms, with a staff that is very gracious and pleasant. In the off season, may be one of the best deals on the island, just a stones throw from the Lighthouse, Cape Point fishing beaches, and the Ocracoke ferry. Highly reccomended!

We live at the Falcon
By chris, 06/30/07
My husband and I own the Falcon Motel. I hope my opinion will matter to the readers. It is our fourth season since our purchase, and a work in progress to finally be at the point to make improvements. We live here and work 24/7 to insure our guests are comfortable. Some things should never be changed, such as the "charm" this establishment holds of the "Old Outer Banks". No this is not the island to visit for nightlife, and there are no terry robes for our guests. What you will find are happy housekeepers who have worked here for 20+ years, and they will not hesitate to give local advice, and maybe share an old island story. Most days my husband and I are out and about and ready to address any need a guest may have. We enjoy providing no boundaries hospitality, and encourage anyone who has not been satisfied in the past to return and experience our improving place once more. Average room cost:$45 in the off-season and $99-$109 peak season. Drive careful no matter where you stay!!

Old Motel
By Anthony, 04/12/07
Hard beds , dirty carpet , musky moldy smell. Very old 1950's style. WAY overpriced like all outer banks bunkers. Good location, not beachfront but a car hop away... If you have never been to the Outer Banks it is very nice...Tghe problem is since there are a limited number of hotel/motel rooms the prices are very steep. There are no large resorts and chain stores etc. All Mom and Pop outfits. No Nightlife..Not Hip or Trendy , hardly a romantic motel to stay in , no internet , no spa...

ALREADY MAKING PLANS FOR NEXT TRIP!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/06
LOVED THE LOCATION. NICE POOL. VERY CLOSE TO BEACH ACCESS/LIGHTHOUSE. MINI-GOLF AND ICE CREAM SHOP RIGHT NEXT DOOR. VERY CLEAN ROOM. LOTS TO DO WITHIN A SHORT TRIP FROM HOTEL. ONE OF THE FEW "OLD STYLE " HOTELS LEFT. VERY QUAINT. FRIENDLY STAFF. WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK. MY WHOLE FAMILY GOES THERE AND I'M SURE THIS WILL BE A PLACE WE KEEP GONG FOR YEARS TO COME.

memories made here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/06
My family was drawn to this establishment by the beautiful pastel colored deck chairs that line the porch. The Falcon proved to be extemely clean and the location can not be beat. We have returned about 6 times and will go back next spring.
