Unexpected Gem !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/09
This is a traditional Mom and Pop hotel that is currently managed by the daughter of the man that built this hotel. We found the Tower Circle when we decided to come to a surfing contest at the last minute and had to drive around off the main road to find accommodations. Lucky for us! Although it looks traditional on the outside - the interiors have all been redone with the beadboard walls painted in the blue and green colors of the sea, white trim, gauzy window covering and clean, clean, clean! The sheets smell like the ocean. We have vacationed on the Outer Banks for more than 20 years and have stayed in lots of places - some good..some awful. So I can tell you what is missing at the Tower Circle - moldy air conditioners, musty carpets, corner crud, road noise, and stress. I mean this place is relaxxxing! It is about 1 1/2 blocks from the nearest beach access - thru the neighborhood so you don't have to cross any major roads. There is a pretty decent surf break there and it is close enough to the hotel to set up chairs and unbrellas on the beach but come back and forth to the rooms to get snacks or bathroom breaks. Speaking of snacks all the rooms have microwaves, refrigs, and several have full kitchens. They have a few family size apartments with decks or balconies also with kitchens. A very nice place to stay if you get to go to Buxton NC sometime.

Wonderful place to stay
By Kim W, 07/12/07
We have been going to the Outer Banks and have never had to make a reservation because we always camp. Not this time!!! We got the phone number to the Tower Circle Motel and Jackie had a room. This was wonderful news!!! My husband and I were happy to stumble across such a nice place, the rooms were clean, the owner was great and told us all the local hot spots and the walk to the beach was within minutes. We would recommend this motel to anyone who is looking for a new secret place to stay. Its off the many road but within walking distance to everything. The rates are wonderful too! Really, A Great Motel !!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/07
This motel was so great, very quite, clean and people were so friendly. It is off the main road which made it quiet. The rooms were extremely clean. The only thing I did not like were the beds, the mattresses were like most motels. The owners were very nice and made you feel apart of the family. I will definitely be going back soon.

Mesquito City
By rodney king, 06/24/07
Hatteras Island is quieter, more isolate. Ocean front on Hatteras means you will have quite a walk. Across a desert of sand... then you cross the first dune..THINKING you are going to see the beach... the ocean..WRONG... another field of sand... and one more dune to cross.. the beaches are deep there... BEAUTIFUL. There are a few resturants on hatteras... and I know of 1 small Food Lion. Hatteras is not a "gifty money trap"... IF you want shops.. lots of resturants.. trek back up to Nags Head. Worst thing about Hatteras is the MESQUITOS.. THEY are PLENTIFUL and most potent. They are HUGH among the largest I've ever seen. Fly can be bad too. After being down there...I had scabs from infected mesquito bites still lingering on me nearly 3 months later... I will never go back to Hatteras to rent... No life guards there either.. On other hand.. YOU DO have privacy on the beach there ... day or night.
