Ash Grove Mountain Cabins and Camping, Brevard

Just returned from a 2-night stay with my wife and 2 children (6 and 8). Ash Grove was exactly what it was advertised and hoped to be - a quiet, clean, family-oriented campground. Steve and Mark were the consummate hosts, making sure that we knew the ins and outs of the campground and the local natural attractions. The bathhouse was clean and fully-functional. There are laundry facilities, a courtesy phone (no cell coverage) and morning coffee. Firewoood is available at a reasonable price, and each site has a fire ring, picnic table and flat area for a tent. Easy access to water and trash cans, clean wheelbarrows for shuttling gear, etc to/from the campsite. There is a playground for the kids (minimal - swings and see-saws - but enjoyable) and some short nature trails that wander through the property. We are pretty protective of our children, but were very comfortable letting them walk up to the bathhouse and on the trails on their own. I hope to get the opportunity to visit Brevard and stay at Ash Grove again - very nice spot!

We just happened to choose this campground off the internet for a quick girl's camping weekend. Boy did we luck out. Ash Grove has private tent sites, (which are peaceful and restoring), a good bath house, all the amenities and super nice hosts. It was such a convenient drive to our waterfall hikes. I grew up camping and have been to ALOT of campgrounds. The first time camper we took with us loved it too. We will be back and we will stay longer next time. I wish I could keep Ash Grove our little secret but.....just btw you and I - GO TO this place!

We had a spectacular time at Ash Grove's cabins just outside Brevard, North Carolina! The hosts were friendly and helpful, the cabin immaculately clean and had everything that we needed. We spent lots of time on the screened porch in the porch swing (it was warm and sunny during the day, and we wrapped a blanket around us at night). We took leisurely walks on the nature trails on the property and some great hikes to several waterfalls (Courthouse Falls in Pisgah Forest and Triple Falls in Dupont Forest are not to be missed!). The town of Brevard has some great restaurants (Marco Trattoria was fantastic), and we picked up food at the gourmet market, Poppies, to cook in our cabin. All in all, it was one of the best vacations ever--quiet and peaceful but with plenty of activities when we wanted stuff to do. We HIGHLY recommend Ash Grove.

We spent a few days at Ash Grove and made reservations for another visit before we left. The cabin was exceptionally clean, and supplied with everything that we needed. The owners were so hospitable--we felt as if we had known them forever. We hiked on the trails on the property (there is even a small waterfall), and visited lots of waterfalls in the area. The town of Brevard (just 10 minutes away) is really cute and has nice shops and great restaurants. I've already told all of my friends about Ash Grove.
