Edwards Of Ocracoke, Ocracoke

The staff is always friendly and the rooms are clean and neat. We have been vacationing on Ocracoke for 20 years now and staying at Edwards for the past 5 years and have never been disapointed.

We got married in their courtyard five years ago..didn't have witnesses, so the owners son gladly stood up for us. We turned around and went back a month later. We always have a great stay there. Were actually going back in two weeks. The rooms are always clean and nice. What more can u ask for. Making reservations is always a snap, they are friendly people. If your looking for a concierge, your on the wrong island..and that's the wonderful thing about it all..We love staying at Edwards, and plan to always give them our business. The hotel has a great location. Near every thing in the village. Short drive from the beach, as there are no ocean front hotels on the island anyway. So if your looking for an affordable place to stay, where the amenities are great.this is your place. I would recommend Edwards to anyone from fishermen in for the weekend, to families wanting a safe, clean place to take their children on vacation. You cant go wrong with Edwards.

There are better housing values there. These people are more interested in money than reputation. Perhaps we were there prior to the "Season" and money wes short but the owner (Trudy Clark) was impossible to deal with.

I paid an $82 room deposit and my fishing partner came down with swine flu the day before we were to take the ferry over. I called them 26 hours in advance and wanted to move reservation to the following month. Even though they told me a reservation wasn't necessary because it was after the season, they refused to transfer the money. This would have been the fourth year in a row that we would have stayed there but I will not do business with these folks again.

Not a glitzy, all amenity type place, but clean, very comfortable, great staff, great location for just about everything you look for in Ocracoke, (except the beach of course), and a great value. Just across the street from the back porch of the Back Porch restaurant, easy walking distance to the only place serving a full breakfast at the present time, shopping, coffee shop and the Deepwater Theater. We have been to Ocracoke a number of times although the first time at Edwards of Ocracoke. This is now our first choice for accommodations.

We just got back from vacation to Ocracoke. This is the first time we stayed at Edwards ( the cottage we usually rented was not available). It is centrally located, very clean & the staff is exceptional. Only a couple of things about the cottage we rented that I didn't like. The air conditioning unit in the living room area was the only one in the cottage, so you had to leave the doors open to the bedrooms or you had no air. Also limited storage in the kitchen for the food etc. we brought.These things were nothing that you couldn't live without for a week or two though. Otherwise it was a wonderful place to stay.

Edwards of Ocracoke is a charming oasis. With very reasonable prices, a gracious, accomidating staff, pleasant location, and cleanliness as a priority, how could you go wrong? The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. We had a lovely time and would recommend Edwards without hesitation.
