Depends on what you like....

Rooms are old, but appear to be clean. Nothing fancy. You don't mind walking in with sand on your feet. However, NONE of the rooms that I could see are ON the water as advertised. You must walk across parking lot and/or around building. Our advertised "Water Front" room didn't even have a VIEW of the lake. You can hear EVERY footstep of the people above you. If kids/drunks/teenagers are staying above you, prepare for a restless night, as they stomp up the stairs or across their room. You can also hear their conversations, though admittedly, some of that can be quite entertaining. The people running the motel were very nice. The beach and water was as beautiful as everyone describes. If you enjoy sitting on a chair in sand, wading in water to cool off, and not worrying about the safety of your little children, White Lake is awesome. About 2 days is the limit though before you get bored. One evening at the Arcade is enough, and then there's nothing left to do. The area around the Arcade is like a time capsule, frozen in the 1950's. A few teen punks/thugs around the Arcade at night, make you feel a little "uneasy", but there are police officers on site which make you feel safer, and we didn't see any trouble during our 4 days there. We will return for weekends or daytrips, but will probably try other motels. Not that other motels, will be any better (as they all appear the same), but we want a room ON the water.
