This 1895 Victorian has been beautifully rennovated with period furnishings. We enjoyed the parlors- but our favorite was enjoying our coffee in the wicker rockers on the wide, screened porch. With it's view of the adjoining Victorian garden, it was a peaceful delight!
We stayed in the Orchid Room, a bright, airy and spacious room with two full beds, a fireplace and sitting area with television. The beds were made with embroidered linens and chenille spreads, but the unexpected treat in this room was its bathroom. The room kept the Victorian decor with a modern shower built for two. It was beautifully appointed with wall-mounted brass coat racks for towels and a lovely antique table with Southern Living magazines.
In the morning, we had an amazing, full gourmet breakfast with hot, homeade poppyseed bread, quiche, melons, hashbrowns, oatmeal, two kinds of juice, hot chocolate, coffee and more.
While in Helena, we attended the free Jazz on the Levee concert and visited the Delta Cultural Center- another free favorite. The music and ambience were fantastic. Helena also has a terrific civil war museum and Confederate cemetery and some of the loveliest shops you'll find anywhere- including the shops at the Solomon House adjacent to the bed and breakfast. Overall, a wonderful experience.
