We'll stay again...
My grandpa recently moved to Ft Payne so we have been up to visit a couple of times. The chain hotels in town are fairly expensive and don't really give much more than this roadside motel (this place doesn't have a pool). Motel 6 cost twice as much, wasn't as clean and smelled weird... Anyways - this motel is quaint and cute. The owners are extremely sweet and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we liked our room and were comfortable. The motel itself is old and a little run down. You can see that they have been trying to make improvements as they go. For example, in our room the bathroom had a new pedestal sink but the shower stall was done in pink tiles from the 60's with mismatched knobs. It worked great though! Each room has a little front porch and a couple of chairs to sit outside with a great view of the mountain. The area is quiet and peaceful. It is located right outside of "town" but very convenient to everything. For the money (roughly $35 per night) I thought this was wonderful. If you are looking for the Hilton you won't like this place... but if you want clean, comfortable and affordable this is the best bet in town! We will stay here any time we go back for a visit.
