I will never rent a cabin there again!

We went sight unseen and trusted the one picture on the web sight and the information given over the phone. We will never do that again. It was filthy! There was a dead mouse in the water heater room. There were holes in the windows so that there were tons of flying ants in the downstairs. When we got there we realized it was awful but there was going to be ten of us meeting there so we decided to make the best of it. We went to the store and stocked up on cleaning supplies, duck tape to tape the windows and bug spray. We spent the whole first day disinfecting and cleaning the entire cabin so we felt OK, we can handle this place for a few days. Then that night after we all showered the plumbing backed up so that raw sewage came up into the bathtub. That is where we drew the line. After a lot of hassle with the people in charge, we were able to get a full refund and we packed up and moved to a nice cabin in Greer, for not that much more money. But it left a bad taste in our mouth because when you go up for a 4 day weekend and spend the first half cleaning and then repacking and moving and unpacking it ruins the vacation. I do have to say though that the lake itself and the surroundings is absolutely beautiful and the fishing is great! If you go, just camp out or bring your own trailer. It is really a gold mine that they have there, but they don't know how to manage it well and perhaps don't have the funds to bring the cabins up to decent living standards. It really is a shame, but don't stay there unless you are really ready to rough it, or until you at least see it to know what you are getting into.
