Never Again!
By Inky, 9/19/06
After readong many of the reviews here, I have to put in my 2 cents as well. I made a 3 night reservation here in November of 2005. After driving from San Francisco to Anaheim, I was expecting to be able to go into my room and have a nice shower. I thought wrong. The reservation that I had made was cancelled and I was moved to another motel further away (on the other side of Harbor blvd) called the "Fantasy Inns & Suites". I had friends staying at the Parkside and I had to drive 5 minutes from my hotel to theirs to visit. Their room was small and very dingy, everything was really old and gross looking and in the end I was glad I wasn't staying there. Another friend who was staying there also had cancelled reservations and was sent to another motel. I would not even reccommend this place ot a crackhead. Not worth the money, and sure as heck not worth the effort.

Horrible. Avoid at all costs. Dirty. Dangerous.
By DeathByDisney, 9/5/06
This was, without a doubt, the WORST hotel experience in my long Disneyland vacation history. Upon driving up to the hotel, I knew we had made a huge mistake. It's like driving straight into the ghetto. The parking lot is cracked and ugly, the planters around the room doors are full of dirt and garbage. The showers run hot and cold as people flush toilets, use their showers, run sinks, etc. from other rooms. The "Continental Breakfast" consists of some of the grossest ten-cent pastries that you could imagine (individually wrapped, and they leave a greasy coating on the inside of your mouth), and burned, awful urn-brewed coffee. And remember, when the urn is empty, you are out of luck! The furniture is filthy, scratched, and not even fit for giveaway at the Salvation Army. On the day we were leaving, a violent altercation had taken place, and the police were there investigating. For my money, I would spend the whole extra fifteen dollars a night and live in cleanliness and safety, and also in a better location (this hotel is a very long walk from Disneyland and California Adventure, and you can also encounter gang members and crazy drug addicts singing on street corners). The best experience that I have had is at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. Barely more expensive than this Parkside Hotel, and it's safe, clean, and is truly ONE BLOCK from the Disneyland MAIN entrance. Again, STAY AWAY from the Parkside Inn and Suites at all costs. Fortunately, all it will cost you to stay away is around another fifteen bucks a night, and this will insure cleanliness, very close proximity to the park, and your family's SAFETY.

Nice place to stay and cheap!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/06
My mom, daughter, neice & I stayed here from Aug 3 to Aug 8 & it was very nice. The room was really nice. Had 2 double beds & there was still plenty of room to walk around. The younger girls used the pool a couple of times & loved it. Not real far from Disneyland. Especially if U use the south entrance to the parks. Close to resturants and other places. Overall it was a really nice place to stay & the price was just right. If we were to go back to Disneyland some dy would stay here again. Thanks. Sandi

You get what you pay for.
By SMichelle, 5/9/06
I'm not understanding the reviews here. The place is fine for the price. You can't beat the price with location and our room had a kitchen which saved us on food as well. The staff were fine and we've stayed here twice now. If you're doing Disneyland on a budget, this is the place. The Waldorf it is not, so don't set your expectations too high and you won't be disappointed. Of course, as always, call ahead to confirm your reservations. That's a no brainer.

Reservations mean NOTHING
By Debbi, 4/8/06
We reserved our room 8 months in advance and they cancelled us WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. We drove 20 hours only to arrive at the hotel to be informed that our reservation was cancelled. They said they had no rooms and they could not help us. They did not call or notify me, just waited for me to show up to tell me they cancelled our reservation. Our vacation was cut short by 4 days because of cancelled reservation. They told me to talk to other hotels about their policies and they would all have the same - THEY ARE NOT! They do not follow their own policies!! Their policy states that payment is due at hotel, they ran my payment 3 days in advance.

Fantastic Staff, Great for the price!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/1/06
If you are looking for a hotel for sleeping and convenience, this is a winner. Not Fancy, Just a nice CLEAN, Quiet, Hotel. The Staff was the friendliest group of People I have encounterred in a long time. Only 1 block from the entrance to Downtown Disney and the Grand Californian. For the price and location, and a standard hotel...you won't be able to beat it.

We tried to stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/19/06
In spite of making reservations 6 months in advance, confirming the resevation several times the month before and confirming the credit card it was reserved under, they still gave our room away!

DO NOT STAY AT ROACH MOTEL
By John, 1/8/06
There were roaches in the room, the price is what you pay for cheap motel. It is a 20 min walk to disneyland, the water was cold. They had lights right outside your room, so when you turn out the light in your room, it seemed if they were never turned off. The security is not very good, the windows do not lock There are area's by the Ac where any one can look in the room at any given time, there is no remote for the TV in your room, the walls are very thin. The next time I visit I will pay a higher price for a different motel.

Do not stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/05
Staff was rude, did not get the room we reserved with 2 bathrooms due to "plumbing problems" at check in, only got 1 bathroom for 5 people, NO hot water in the morning, the front desk was not accomadating at all about getting us another room to shower in,( they gave us a room on the other side of hotel which was too far to walk with luggage), and refused to give us a later check out even with the water problem. was also told at time of making reservation that they were "across the street" from disneyland and they were no where near that, they were at least a 20 min fast walk away from the entrance. the only good thing was the price and that was not even worth the trouble we had with them.

Good Value
By Wendy, 6/7/05
The best thing about the Parkside Maingate is its rates. In the overpriced Disneyland neighborhood it has prices that can't be beat. We were able to afford a two bedroom suite at the rates offered. The close proximity to Disneyland and pleasant walk to the monorail are a bonus. If you're looking for luxury you won't find it here, but if you plan on being at Disneyland most of the time, why pay a fortune for a place to sleep? Although the accomodations are spartan our room was always clean. The continental breakfast is just that, sweet rolls and milk, juice or coffee. Staff were pleasant. We were able to store our bags prior to check in. If you're looking for a place to stay that won't break the bank, this is it!
