Mountain Hi Lodge, Alpine

We made a reservation a week in advance for five nights. Our decision to stay here was based on several excellent reviews posted on tripadvisors website. Upon arriving we were quite disapointed with the property. The suite that we booked was not clean, dog hair on the couch, dead insects littered the floor. The murphy bed was a pull out sofa with a mattress as thin as paper. The mattress on the king bed had a noticeable depression in the center. The beautiful view, was of a trailer park with trash all about. After one night, we decided to ask for a refund of our remaining reservation. The lady at the desk said it was out of her hands and that we needed to contact the corporate office via email, no phone number was provided. The place is under new management for several months, and after talking with several local people, it seems to have gone downhill. The excellent reviews recently submitted seemed suspicous and might have been written by management in order to entice people, like us, to stay here. After we arrived home, I wrote a negative review on tripadvisor. The management was quick to respond with a fabricated and libellous statement about my wife being intoxicated . This is no way to run a business. Dont stay here, there are several other properties in Alpine that are far better.

We travel from California every year to spend our vacation in alpine, arizona. Our favorite place to stay is the Mountain-Hi Lodge. We just love the management. They always make us feel welcomed and they are always eager to help us with our needs. We feel like we are staying in our home away from home. We have never encounterd any problems,the rooms are very clean, and we feel safe. We just hate to have to leave. We can't wait to journey to alpine this summer.
