Affordable Family Resort, Myrtle Beach

My husband and I were going down for a weekend, visited the website and booked the hotel before seeing it. We were thinking that if it were a place we would bring the kids down on our next trip. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR WEBSITE! I am SO thankful we did not bring our kids to this nightmare of a place. Not only were the rooms were the most disgusting and dirtiest things I've ever seen the people who run it are apparently physchotic. When I asked one of the guys in the front office he was extremely hateful to us. When we asked for a manager he stated he was the manager. When we asked for the owner he smirked and said it was his "Mom." Still thinking that maybe there would be some kind of reasoning with the mother we insisted on speaking to her and we did. She screamed crazily and threatened us for being "rude" to her son. It was really spooky. This place is nothing more than a roach motel run by a bunch of nuts. To make matters worse the door to our room did not lock so they could have walked in on us at anytime and done God knows what to us in our sleep. If you can't afford any better than this STAY HOME! At least you will live to see another vacation.

Arrived and found "Water Slides" were closed down and locked off-was told by someone else staying there that it had been that way all week and they wanted to leave but owner refused refund. Pool dangerous, overcrowded, nasty, out of control and had sharp objects in and around it. Website shows what appears to be an elaborate kiddie pool. If someone finds it there, please let me know. Room nasty and smelly. Toilet rusty. One of my daughters was concerned because in the corner of her room she found a ball of what looked like a mixture of some type of fur or hair and a bug. Bed less comfortable than a cot and linens were dirty. Pillows as thin as a towel. No light bulbs in lamps. Had to run outside half dressed during the night because someone pulled the fire alarm. After that, went to office to see if I could cancel the next days reservation and another guest was there doing the same. Personally witnessed the clerk threaten to "drag" her "kids out in the street and beat them with a cane." At this point demanded a full refund and was refused. Clerk called owner/mom who also refused and threatened to call the police because we were being "rude" to her son by asking for a refund. Went back to room and walked out a few moments later. The owner and clerk son walk outside of office and started screaming at us. Went back inside and locked the door. Owner then called us on phone, threatened us again with the police and stated the "slides had been opened all day." Stated that we would not receive a refund and that if we tried to leave she would charge us a cancellation fee on our card. By this time we were scared to even walk out of our room because of the sheer craziness of the people. My young children cried all night. One had been with me when owner's son/desk clerk threatened the other woman's kids. Returned key in morning light and owner was there. Asked her again for a refund and a copy of any paperwork we had signed. She threatened to call the police again. While walking out the door I told her "thank you for ruining my family's vacation." She responded "you're quite welcome." Did not receive refund. Was raked for over $300. Then had to turn around and find and pay for another hotel for remainder of our stay. Had to cancel debit card to avoid any further fraudulent charges being added. Will be seeking legal representation for damages, warning everyone I know and filing a complaint with the BBC. Places like this need to be shut down. They turn families into victims.

Been going now since 2004. Love the place very family oriented. The guy at the front desk is very nice too.. Rooms are great. personally i have stayed in the royal suite, the family suite and the couples room. happy every time!

we loved having a kichen,it saved even more money,i have 4 kids that loved the slides, pool,and the kiddie area,the game room needs a little more,but still great,the washer & dryer is very handy,the room was clean ,the house keeping was very nice,the front desk was great too.it was pretty affordable for a very on the budget family.this was our first beach vacation with all 4 of the kids ,and it was great! thanks to all the staff .we hope to see you this year .keep the prices low thats what i love the most!!!!

me and my family stay there not so long ago we loved that place in clean,it doesnt smell bad,it has nice management,and house keepers,my sister shes 3 yrs old and she loved the kidz pool,it was clean and cool..well i do recomend this place to yall is so great..!next summer we go to the beach again we are goin to stay there again...!

My family stayed here a few times and found the hotel to be moderately priced facility with clean rooms and located on the quiet southern end of the strip. I understand they don't rent to locals which is a pleasant change from alot of the other smaller hotels along the beach. Also, they don't rent to young students or college age kids. The minimum age to stay is 25. They had a great picnic area with grills to cut the cost of feeding the family. Also, most of the rooms have full kitchens. All of their rooms are suites with two separate areas in which to sleep which is great compared to single rooms that don't provide much privacy when traveling with extended families. The water slides looked fun but didn't personally use them and the kid's pool is first rate. The on-site laundry made keeping fresh clothes easy. All in all I would rate this hotel an A+ and didn't see all the negative things that some of the other visitors commented on. We dealt with friendly and helpful staff and the housekeeping was far better than alot of other places we have stayed. This place isn't a Sheraton or Hyatt but it is clean, affordable and free from the rift raft found at other smaller establishments. Go and enjoy your stay and I bet once you visit you will return again and again.

it was a nice place and very affordable ilike the rooms was real clean the first three or four days the front desk people was very rude and was not nice to us either could not get a remote for our tv and finally got our fire alarm fixed and would not run the water slides from 1 until 3 pm did not say nothing and writing on the water slides just being open certain times and the maids was real nice and doneagood jobs for us if they was all real nice like they was it would be a good place to stay and the matience people was real nice to

The places stinks and its dirty and the people that stay there pretty much stink too. Not the RESORT they advertize. The service was not very good and the wait for anything was forever.

we stayed here one year on our family vacation, from reading some of the reviews on here i just had to respond, if you are going on your honeymoon DO not go here, there is nothing romantic there for you. this is the place to go if your on a budget while your on vacation. the stay and rooms were average, the water slides for kids were great but the hotel was a little old, not a bad stay but not the best its just an average hotel, but they should change the name its nowhere near a resort style hotel

The staff was more than helpful. Everyone went out of their way to assist us. The location was perfect for what our family needed...the onsite water slides and pools were wonderful! The elevator had a horrible smell but that was the only complaint I have. A great place to stay on a budget. Perfect for kids in all age groups.
