worst experience ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/09
to start with room was nasty, looked out the balcony and there were large roach like bugs crawling all over the lower level walls and last but not least the morning of checkout as our family was leaving the maid came in to our room my 10 yr old son realized when we left the parking lot he had left his wallet in the room on the a/c unit to dry it had got wet in the oceanso we go back and check and his wallet was no where to be found the maid acted as if she was helping us look for it so i informed front desk to call if it was found we went for breakfast and i called the motel back and front desk informed me all the trash from our level floor was up at the desk if i wnted to come go thru it so i went back and what did i find in the very botto of the trash bag my sons wallet of course with his 90.00 dollars gone i was very inferiated i had front desk call the police and he made a report and questioned the maid he and everyone knew this lady took my childs money i was informed the manager would call me i never ever heard again from them a few months later we visited the beach and i went by gazebo inn to ask for the manager she was not there they assured me she would contact me nope no calls appologies or anything this trip was my sons birthday present and he ended up with such a disappointing trip and out his money he was saving to go buy him a gift the day we left never ever again would i stay at this run down dirty place needless to say heartless staff that would allow their staff to steal from a child!

WORST VACATION EXPERIENCE EVER!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/08
I went to my fav beach Myrtle Beach at had the worst possible experience. In all the paper work I was given at check in was a tag to hang on mirror of my vehicle for id. I was never made aware my the rude front-desk man at check in that I had to display this or that it was even necessary. I stayed there in The Gazebo Inn for three days without this displayed on my mirror. Upon departure the last morning of our stay, I went to get our van to load our bags into it and The Gazebo Inn had had it towed the night before, because this tag was not displayed. The very hotel that I paid money to stay with had my car towed. Upon check in I had to indicate the make, model and tag number of my vehicle. My fiance is a car dealer , we were known by the owner to be the only dealer tag in the whole parking area. I had to pay over 250 dollars extra for cab fees and tow bill. This was rediculous. On top of that nightmare, the room was filthy, sand piled in corners, shower full of hair when i first looked in, comode not properly working, the towels and bed linen was atrocious. I thought of going to another hotel, glad I didn't cause I would have needed that money later for the tow bill. This was the rudest establishment that I have ever encountered in my many, many years of traveling. I would not advise anyone to stay there.

Okay but won't go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/07/08
The room and everything was what I expected for the price. Old beach motel with simple rooms and simple amenities. The night front desk guy was very rude and curt. Not friendly in the least. The morning lady was very nice and pleasant. Pool needed to be vacuumed badly. Then sand was piled up on the bottom. We slept in late one morning and did not get the room serviced. SO I went down to ask for some towels. I was told by the rude guy that they did have any extras and should have had my room serviced and I would have gotten clean towels. Seriously????? Seriously. My boyfriend has stayed there many time over the last 20 years and commented that it was reasonably priced and clean. Both were true but it is a little on the the rundown side since his last stay there and I think we will try a different place next go around.

Horrible!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/20/08
Rufused to walk barefooted in room, Floors made our socks turn black, worst place ever. Bought our own covers and towels because towels there were old and stinky. Pool and Hot tub were green and yellow. I was happy to go back home and take a decient shower. Heard fireworks up untill 3 or 4 every morning and had no sleep at all. Service refused to do anything about people shooting off fireworks and said "Oh well" HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Myrtle Beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/07
I choose the Gazebo for the Military Police discount, it says alot about the owners. For the price the hotel is great, older but clean and friendly service. Only a few things we didn't like....the pool looked yellow so we opted for the ocean. The towels were very rough. Remember to bring your own beach towels and a hair dryer. Overall I really liked the hotel and plan on going next year 2008.

you get what you pay for
By b, 06/12/07
stayed here fir 5 nights from 6-5-07 to 6-10-07. Rooms were exactly what i thought they were going to be, affordable a little old but fairly clean on the inside. but hey, i came for the beach and to enjoy my wife and small sons company. my oceanfront room was everthing i thought it wouold be and every thing in the room worked to my satisfaction. the hotel was very quiet at night and the pool was not crowded at all during the day. if your on a budget and want to stay oceanfront this is a great place.

Best buy on the beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/09/07
Many good things to say about this place. I have stayed there two times over the last two years and will continue to stay there on every trip to Myrtle Beach. Very basic, very clean, very affordable and very good people that own and very good people on staff. Plus, easy in and out for those that like to take in the sites of Myrtle Beach, plus, close to many fine restaurants.

Good place for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/06
For the price, the Gazebo Inn is a good place to stay. It is a small, older hotel but clean. Good location - not in the middle of the busy "strip." However, if you like walking to stores/attactions, none are within walking distance but you will find a few restuarants within walking distrance. Room was comfortable. Hotel decorations were pleasant - country decor. Small pool but pool and deck were clean (3 feet to 5 feet deep). Didn't notice a kiddie pool. Housekeeping staff was pleasant and professional. Check in and Check out was smooth and quick. Good experience and will probably stay there again. Hotel caters to families, couples, and no one under 25. Noticed families with young children but it was always quite.
