This place was probably the place to be 40 years ago. Today it is discusting. I did not know to read reviews on hotels, and didn't do that. The pictures are deceiving. Our feet were black from walking on the carpet in the room. The bathrooms are dirty with old fixtures. This place needs to be closed down by the health department. I pulled down the covers on the bed and the sheets were so thin I could see my skin through them, plus the color was a dingy white. We did not stay the next day.
First of all I will start out by saying that this place is the filthiest place I have ever stayed at. The rooms are absolutely disgusting, the hallways smell, the elevator is old and creepy, and the people at the front desk do not care what goes on there. This hotel is a place for highschool kids on Spring Break who party all night long and don't care about the other guests. When I first got into my room the bathroom floor was so dirty. It had men's hair all over the floor, rust stains in the shower, and a dirty sink and toilet. Seriously this place is a nightmare. The pictures on the internet make it look somewhat ok looking but take my word it is filthy. I dont think the maids clean the rooms at all. The sheets on the beds had stains on them, and cigarette holes. The carpet is never vacuumed, you have to wear shoes at all times in the room. Please consider my review when looking for a place in Myrtle Beach to stay, this place should seriously be burned down. After a couple nights of torture in this place we moved down the street to a beautiful hotel that was just built. It was all brand new and very clean, and very affordable. If we knew this before hand we would have never stayed at this cockroach infested hotel...Take my word before you consider booking this place.. IT IS DISGUSTING!!!
This is our second year staying here at this place and we had a great time. Getting ready for the 3rd year. Our room we always get is clean and housekeeping came in everyday with clean bedding and towels. Sure its somewhat out dated but for the price its great. With ocean front and kitchen. We enjoyed our stay here both years.
This place is so bad that the General Manager will refuse to spend a night in it!!!This is a very old hotel that has lost its grace. This place looks like it has been there for ever and is crying for some serious cleaning. This hotel has been negleted period. i am not sure the last time the owners or even the manager did a walk through the hotel. Place is a filth. the bathroom sink is cracked and discolored, the shower rod is rusted, hallway is disgusting and very dirty..need some cleaning. Ice machine looks like it has not been cleaned since the hotel opened.
We just stayed at the Polynesian on the 5th of August. Turned down the bed sheets to get ready for bed and we found rat poop in the sheets and when we called the front desk they brought us sheets and the girl shoved the sheets in our face for us to changed them ourself. WE have stayed here several times in the past and we won't stay here again.
First of all, when we checked in the place was very dirty and I do mean dirty! Beer and liquor bottles where everywhere, and underage drinking was plentiful! They place smelled like cheap booze, litter was everywhere, the elevator did not appear to be safe at all, and the smell of it alone had one taking the stairs. The law was called on numerous occasions. They parties all night long until the wee hours of the morning. They had only 1 security guard and I truly believe he was outnumbered! We complained numerous times about the partying, but to no avail. I was scared to let my son go out late. I sa windows beside us being broke out, the works! I would not recoomend it.
This place was filthy. The hallways stunk of urine, the elevators were hot & filthy. The parkins was terrible, there was garbage all over the outside, the rooms (I stayed in an ocean front room) was very worn & dingy. Steer clear of this place!
From the pictures of this hotel on the web, it looks awesome...don't believe what you see. This hotel is in extremely bad shape. From the ceilings to the floors, from housekeeping practices to major needed repairs. The staff is not very willing to accomodate either. There are very few amnemities. Very poor value. Not in the best neighborhood either. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone that plans on enjoying themselves in SC.
Me, my mom and my sister had planned a girls weekend. We had gone online to plan our trip. We saw the pictures of the Polynesian Resort and thought it looked really nice and was affordable for our budget. Boy were we fooled when we got there. I don't know where the place in the picture is but it was not what we saw when we got there. The staff wasn't very personable and the facility itself was NASTY!!! When we got into the room there were roaches crawling on the walls and in the bath tub. There was some sort of mystery stain on the wall that we still have not figured out what it was. The ceiling was missing huge chunks. The place stunk. The beds, I wouldn't be scared to say that they had not been changed from a few previous people. We only stayed 30 minutes and we left. The enviornment was just very very uncomfortable. The room next to us had their door wide open and there were probably 12 drunks just hanging all in the halls. The elevator was just scary and when we decided to leave it didn't even work, we had to lug or luggage down 3 flights of stairs. I have never been to a place that was this NASTY!! And to get the key you had to leave a $20 deposit, as if someone would really want to keep the keys to this place. I would never even ride by this place again. We ended up at 9:30 riding around trying to find a room. Do not always believe pictures you see. The picture we saw was of a nice ocean front resort that was probably 10 - 12 stories, this place was disgusting and ratty looking. Please don't take your family to this place.
