This was my first time ever visting Myrtle Beach and this hotel was horrible the bathroom light didn't work we immediatly had to have that fixed no electrical outlet in the bathroom area, bed was hard we woke up with a back ache, there was mold in the room, the window wouldn't open, the shower didn't work, got up in the middle of the night to remove the sand spurs out of the bed, you'd think for a $130.00 a night it would be a good place to stay.
Our first time to Myrtle Beach we checked other hotels could not find a ocean front view. We love the ocean. Stopped there was given a good price. This Inn was not the greatest place but I did not see any bugs. The shower was great the rooms were a little out dated but I always take my own blankets etc. Just me We were very confortable really loved the view . We walked the paths and to me If I had a choice I would of picked this place to stay. Not sure what the other rooms looked like but I liked mine. I liked the rockers on the porch.
Me and my family stay here every year and i have never once seen a cockroach and also the ppl who say they seen them u sure u didnt bring them with you lol. We have had small problems like a broken shower faucet and other things but it is a older hotel and that will happen . We did get great service though and enjoyed the complimentary ice cream on the fourth! The managers are great people and also they watch your cars for you and dont let people from off the blvd lean on them or touch them! It does have some rust but the beds are clean and they have recently added new furniture which is very nice. If you are used to a spotless hotel with hotubs and sofas and nice rooms then u need to stick to the resorts lol.
my son bo roper and now daughter in law amy were married at the chesterfield inn sunday oct.4th.what a beautiful afternoon with little or no breeze blowing.as friends and family gathered at this historic inn and landmark for two people whose lives became one they also were a part of something that should be a fixture forever in our minds. the back lawn over looking atlantics big blue. time stood still for all those events hosted and arranged by the mitchells.ms.karen and her staff were 5 star accomadating to bo and amy.thank you for letting your inn and heart share in their journey. so to everyone including myself that jumps on soap boxes and critize take time to go by chesterfield inn 700 n ocean blvd.and breathe in some ocean air and some character.oh yeah take your cameras too. God bless you mitchells. frank roper
The place was terrible. it constantly smelled of cabbage and burnt meat loaf. We also had collected 4 pet roaches by the end of our stay. We named them all chester. Ok so this place is old and haggard like a broken tee, or a rundown pinto car.
I was there for the october halloween bash and it was put on in the basement for a charity. The owners sons do not live in the basement they were decorating for the party, they were helping raise money for hurricane Katrina victims. So whomever posted the comment about they live in the basement is incorrect. They are thoughful and nice people for helping out with the Katrina fund raiser.
the rooms were horrible. we reserved a room for 6 and when we arrived, we got downgraded to a 2 bed. i didn't mind the spiders and the rust, but having a broken shower head and a wooden stick to lock the sliding door wasn't up to my standards.
the rooms where also not clean. the beds had stains and not all the lights worked.
since it was evening when we arrived, we spent one night there and decided to book another hotel a few blocks down the road. for an additional $45 total, the North Sands hotel was much much cleaner with 2 TV's, a cleaning service, 3 pools, internet access, addequate parking, etc...
we were charged for 2 nights, even though we only spent one night there. if you are used to living without the usual hotel ammenities and a trailer-trash lifestyle, then this inn is for you. i don't think the owner put much money into maintaining the building/rooms.
I stay there during the spring and fall Harley Ralley. This is a great place to stay.Kyle,Karen and do not forget Chris He is the man.Chris comes out and hangs out with the guest and makes everyone feel welcome. Do not forget the security guy ( forgot his name )he helps the ones who need help after hours. So to everyone at the Chesterfield Inn keep up the good work and we will see you in the spring.
This Inn is family owned by a southern family that upholds high standards of service and southern hospitality. I've stayed there many times, and I've noticed that the people who stay there are almost always families and very seldom college or high school kids. It's quiet, clean, and calming. I recommend it to anybody except for drunk college and high school kids.
