White Columns Motel, Pine Mountain

Checked out this motel on their website and was impressed by the pictures of the rooms and the price, so I made a reservation. Needless to say, I never saw a room that looked like anything on their website when we got to the motel. The room was small, old, dirty looking, and had a very musky oder even with the windows up. The bathroom was tiny, outdated, and I saw hair all over the towels. I went directly back to the office and told them the room was nothing like the photos or descriptions on their website and the room was dirty and we didn't want to stay there. We were told the room had already been serviced and that we were paying for the room if we left or stayed. Their policy; must cancel before 72 hours or 7 days depending on when your stay is for no charge, if you cancel between 72 hours and the day before your stay the charge is either one night's lodging or $25 per room and the option is up to the motel, if you cancel on the day of your stay or after you look at the rooms they will charge you for your entire booking. We did not stay because the place was nasty. I called my credit card company when I got in the car and asked them not to accept charges from this motel. I don't know how this will turn out, but don't be fooled by this motel like me. DON'T MAKE RESERVATIONS OR STAY AT THE WHITE COLUMNS MOTEL.

My first day of travel is just to the motel and then rest. At this motel, I was unable to do that because of something biting me in the bed. I guess fleas, bedbugs, or something in that room. I had no problem before checking-in. I should have known something was wrong by the old, smelly, cramped, and not to clean room. I found hair on the bed and alot on the towels. The water pressure was awful. The toilet would run for several minutes, the shower water would only reach the end of the faucet. The breakfast was a little debbie honeybun or an old bagel with weak coffee or orange juice. To say something good, it's close to everything and a nice couple runs it. Overall, I would only recommend this motel to pet owners. If you're trying to save a buck, this place is still not the answer because of the problems you have to deal with while there or after you leave.
