A little peace and quiet.
By Y.F., 11/10/08
The only bad thing I can say is the deisels from the RV part are a little noisy. I found the old-fashioned decor charming and they have the best heaters. They moved a microwave and fridge into our room, themselves. They give a list and directions to area attractions. For the price we paid I believe this is one of the best values going. I would definately stay again.

The worst stay in my entire life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/09/08
Just to preface, we stayed in the cottages so I can't say anything about the camper/RV part of Parkwood. The rooms seemed clean with a brief inspection, but the beds smelled like cottage cheese and the bathrooms had mold all over. The floors were straight out of the 70s and are in dire need of replacing, I didn't let my bare feet touch one inch of the cottage floors. The bathrooms were laughable at best with a shower head so low that you practically have to get on your knees to have it hit the top of your head (I'd say the shower head is at the 5' 6" level at the highest). Half of our party slept on top of the beds in sleeping bags and on pillows purchased from the nearby Wal-Mart and still had terrible sleep due to the beds with terrible springs (some beds had huge dead spots in the middle and some were hard as bricks). One person in our party was so disgusted that he slept in the van during our stay. Another party that was staying in separate rooms (we had never met them until that day) refused to stay even one night and left for a nearby town for rooms. The staff (maybe the owner, I never saw him) was condescending and short with a party that needed extra towels, he ended up coming after many phone calls but had angered so many people by that point that half the people left moments later. We were especially annoyed that there was only one key available for each room, with no promise that there would even be someone on-site to help unlock doors in case of misplaced keys. Stay away if you want to have even a resemblance of an enjoyable stay.
