Alta Vista Motel, Cloudcroft

We contacted the owner of the motel on Monday and asked for a room for Saturday night. She took our credit card number. We arrived late Saturday in the rain and were told our reservation was made for Friday night and they had no more rooms and could not help us. We went next door to the Alpine hotel. Although they also had no rooms, they were extremely helpful and called all the hotels in the area for us. They also kept their restraunt open late so my kids could get some dinner (thank you!!). We ended up having to drive back into Almagordo to get a room. I spoke with the owner today and she claims that the problem with the reservation was clearly my fault as she could not have messed up! We have been fully charged the $95.00 with no apology that she may have actually misunderstood me as there was alot of background noise at the motel when I called. If you ever HAVE to stay at this motel - I would triple check that they have your reservation correct!!
