Antilley Inn An Okay Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/23/08
My husband and I visited his brother in Abliene who lives an assisted living home. I had tried to get a guest room at the home, but they were already booked up. I asked the receptionist if there was a motel close by and she told me about Antilley Inn. She said she did not know anything about it, but it looked nice on the outside. She was nice enough to look up the telephone number and give it to me. I went ahead and called and made reservations. Later on tht day I got on the internet and looked up motels in the Abilene area. I found the motel and read some of the reviews people had given. I really got concerned because some of them were not very good reviews. I decided to go ahead and keep our reservations since we would not be there but for one night. I thought we could make it one night. When we got to the motel, registered and got the key to our room, what a surprise awaited for us. The room was very nice with new furniture, nice heavy drapes and bedspread. The bathroom and vanity were very clean. They had left sufficient towels and wash cloths. Most motels leave only two wash cloths when you stay only one night. There were a least four wash cloths. There were two lights by the kingsize bed and one by the mirror. The vanity light was also a bar light that probably had four or more lights on it. In one of the reviews I read, they mentioned the odor in the room. The carpet looked fairly new and I know from experience that new carpet keeps an odor from ahwile. I will agree it did have an odor. I would suggest to the motel management that they use a carpet and room odor eliminator when they vacuum. I would also suggest to the customers that they carry a disinfectant spray and some disinfectant wipes. My husband and I travel quite a bit on bus tours and I find this is quite helpful. Also, if you want a pillow like yours at home, carry yours from home. I have found very few motels with good pillows.
May this review help someone who is thinking about staying at the Antilley Inn. We have stayed in a lot of motels when we go on tours, and it is as good or better than some we have stayed in.
