Butterfield Stage Motel, Deming

The Butterfield Stage Motel is a nice, clean and inexpensive place to stay in Deming, NM. Located on Old US Highway 80 in the middle of town, it is on the main drag near the downtown area and several dining establishments. You can't go wrong at $35 per night - and that is for two persons. For those skeptical travelers who are wary of the mom and pop operation, give the Butterfield Stage a try. My wife and I stayed here for a night in late July 2011. The property is generally clean and well kept as are the rooms. The air conditioning was in good working order when we were there as were the bathroom/shower facilities. The rooms are very large as well and look to be in their original decor from the 1950s or 60s - a plus to someone like me who is interested in the retro experience and lifestyle from 50 plus years ago. The Butterfield Stage is nothing fancy, but certainly will do when a comfortable bed and hot shower are all you need. Why pay more at a boring chain motel when the Butterfield Stage Motel awaits? Perfect for no-frills, simple, budget minded travelers.

Quaint but somewhat in need of upkeep. Was in a good location, within walking distance of downtown. The price was right and the manager was extremly helpful.

Will not be staying here again I have stayed at Butterfield several times this time it was evident that it is under different management. The staff was not as I remembered and rooms are in need of maintance and cleaning. Sorry to say I will not be back!

This Hotel made me feel at home. John and MaryLou are such wonderful people. No matter what I needed, they were right on it. My family and I stayed for almost 3 weeks before we found ourselves a home..and I've never know of anyone to be so caring, and attentive folks. I will always Forever remember my stay there...such wonderful folks....
