WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I am 36 years old and have camped every Easter weekend at over 20+ campgrounds/lodges with my family and extended family since I was 5 years old, never missing a camping trip. I recently stayed at this "Resort" and found the owners to be overbearing, paranoid, uptight, and anally retentive. The rule "BOOK" was 10-15 pages long and listed horror stories intended to scare the parents and children into being submissive to there rules.
The atmosphere is unwelcoming and you constantly feel as if you are an errant child doing something naughty. At some point the owners forget that YOU are the customer, paying a premium for the lodging to enjoy a relaxing vacation and that the purpose of paying this premium is so that you can forget about the mundane responsibilities of your normal daily chores and that they are being paid for relief of these responsibilities.
After being told that the children were not allowed to ride bikes on the grass and to keep them on the road, we were later informed that they should not ride them on the road as the “ruts” in the gravel due to the children putting on their breaks was damaging the road.
In addition, after leaving, the owners accused us of getting gum, or a burn spot on the floor of one of the cabins (which ended up not being true) and of taking a blanket out side and burning a hole in with a fire ember from our fire when NONE of the blankets were ever taken from the cabins, EVER.
It was a common joke with my family about the “rules” and how everything that we did wrote another page in the rule book.
If not for the good nature and humor of my entire family, this could have been one of the most miserable and high priced Easter weekend vacations that we have ever ventured.
Although the view was spectacular, and the lake was beautiful, I highly recommend finding another location to enjoy natures bounty on Lake Whitney.
