Tubac Country Inn, Tumacacori

My mother and I almost walked right past Tubac Country Inn the first time we stayed there. We had gone to Tubac from Sierra Vista for a day trip and on the spur of the moment decided to just spend the night, if we could find a room. Once we stepped through this small B&B's gate and saw the graceful, quiet garden, we kept our fingers crossed that there would be a room and that it wouldn't be too far out of our price range. We were in luck. Tubac Country Inn has only four rooms, but even in the smallest guests are pampered with thoughtful little touches to welcome and delight. The highlight of any stay has to be the breakfast baskets, personally delivered by the owners in the early morning and generously filled with everything from fresh fruit to mellow cheeses to yogurt. You can eat in the room with the window open to morning breezes and birdsong, or take a croissant and a fresh cup of coffee out to the porch or garden; the Inn's adobe wall makes it feel like a private paradise. We have stayed at the Inn twice, and definitely plan to do so again. The Inn is located on the eastern edge of Tubac's renowned artisan's market, with most shops within easy strolling distance.
