The Beachview Club, Jekyll Island

Stopped at the welcome center and got this room for $119. Later found a brochure listing the room for $79. Grounds are beautiful but the smell in the room was terrible. Woke up during the night with the worst allergy attack of my life. Smell could have been from mold or cover up, Trim wood under the table was broken and looked bad. All in all the room is in need of a major up grade. Get rid of the carpet which seemed to be be the cause of the smell. Would never stay there again.

We had great accommodations, room was clean and, modern. I cannot find enough words to say how much we like this place. Would recommend to everyone

This hotel is so comfortable, close to everything,quiet, clean, I just loved it. They gave us a great rate too on a suite, when we stopped by the welcome center on the way in. The oak trees are amazing, and the grounds are beautiful. The full moon over the ocean was amazing. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary, and it was so romantic!

The Beachview Club made our stay on Jekyll wonderful. With the beautiful live oaks on the grounds hanging over the pool and hot tub. The oaks with the hanging moss, gave the hotel is own romantic charm. The beach view was beautiful from the balcony. I could see having a wedding here. Beach walking was very nice morning and evening. The staff were very pleasant, and housekeeping great. Since there was no breakfast here, we went to the grocery and purchased milk and cereal and had breakfast in bed! We will come back to stay here!

The Hotel was perfect. The room was as beautiful as the sunrise we saw our 1st morning. The heated pool was a plus, the grounds were breathe taking. The staff gave us info. on all the things to see and do. Lattitude 31 was the best place to eat, as was Morgan's Grill. We love the fact it was quiet and secluded. Lots of history on Jekyll Island, so we will return again, and again. Perfect for winter retreats. The Wedding Sat. was just awesome.

Our family stayed at the Beachview Club while we wer edown for our daughter's wedding in March 2009. We really enjoyed our stay! The hotel gave us a fantastic group rate. The rooms were clean, comfortable, well decorated. Our room was a queen double that included a kitchen complete with stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, table with chairs. Our balcany overlooked the pool surrounded with live oaks and the ocean in the background - we have postcard quality pics of this. The hot tub is surrounded by hedges giving one an element of privacy. It is great to sit in the hot tub and look up at the beautiful live oaks - very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our group would recommend the Beachview Club.

About 6 years ago, this place was great. The setting is very pretty. The rooms were redone about 7 years ago and they were beautiful. The staff is nice. Southern charms. NOW, the rooms are worn and filthy. There was this sewage smell that they tried to cover up with bleach. The room had several cock roaches running about. The faucets were lose and sinks were clogged. The pool was gross and foggy and the flies were horrible. It is a shame. They messed up my reservation and made it a day short. So their way of telling you to leave is to ring your phone and then there is noone there. Then housekeeping will walk in on you and act surprised and then they will bang on your door and ask you when you are leaving. The front desk will call and ask what's going on and that is when I said I would be happy to leave. ! I actually saw a baby cockroach on my own floor at home and I wonder if it didn't stow away on our bags! Jekyll Island is very quiet and the scenery is beautiful. There is one store to buy groceries on Jekyll. Black beards restaurant will lure you in because of the beautiful setting. But, once you are inside......you will probably decide to leave.

We just love to float in the pool and stare up at the beautiful huge Live Oaks. Most excellant! Also, it's oceanfront, has well kept grounds, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and an excellant staff.It's one of our favorite spots.

Like the location... It is a beachfront hotel, shaped like the letter L and the pool and beach between the hotel and water. It is definately on the best beach that Jekyll Island has to offer! Staff was very friendly, helpful, with great instructions, and we also rented two bikes from them. Did not have a resturant on site, so be ready to do nearby drives/bike rides for a mile or two to get there.
