The worst experience of my life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/04/08
Alright, this is it... I really thought this was going to be a nice place to stay.. The website made it out to be very nice. The staff sleeps 24 hours a day.. The microwave didn't work... The coffee pot was 80 years old and dirty... The shower smelled like rotten eggs... They don't even keep track of when you come and go so how can you ever expect to feel comfortable leaving your things unattended. The worst part of the whole experience was leaving to go to eat after a long day at work and coming back to realize that there were two naked people in the bed and yes I walked in on them.. NOT FUN!!! Well, to make it all better the owner gave me my money back for the night so that was cool.. For anyone that wants to stay at this motel beware that it is SOLD!!! He sold out to a developer so it is going down hill super fast. I wish it would have turned out better but thats that...

Absolutely Charming
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/07
This little motel is absolutely charming. Hardwood floors in the bedroom, brick flooring in the bathroom made it feel so homey. The copper clawfoot bathtub was a treat! A real quilt covered the bed and we felt like we were a guest in someone's home!It has so much personality and charm I may never stay in chain hotels again but see if I can't find more gems like this one!

Very nice place, great service
By D & T, 11/11/06
My husband and I stayed at the San Gabriel Motor Court for on a week basis. We had just relocated and we were looking for a home to rent so we stayed here until we found a place. We didn't have a signature room, and the room we were in wasn't renovated but it was clean. The grounds are very well kept and charming and very close to the town square of Georgetown. Resident artisan Paul is a great guy and very gifted with furniture making. He took us on a tour of all the rooms, and the rooms are great and like nothing you've seen. Our stay was very pleasant and I hope people continue to support this piece of Georgetown history.

Charming!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/09/06
This was our second time staying at the San Gabriel Motel, and we have been very impressed with both stays. The first time we opted to book one of the honeymoon packages, which included two nights in an early Texas suite (we stayed in the Chisolm Trail), complete with a clawfoot bathtub, antique wood floor, a rustic log bed, and various artifacts from the wild west. Our first night, we were greeted with fresh strawberries, homemade whipped cream, and assorted pastries. The next morning we were treated to a breakfast of tropical fruit, muffins, and chilled orange juice. Knowing we wouldn't want to bother with checking in after our reception, the owners allowed us to register the following morning. The room was quiet and comfortable, the service friendly and accommodating. The second time we stayed in one of the sleeping rooms, which was smaller, but just as unique. Down by the river, there is a barbecue pit, picnic table, and volleyball net. Prices are very reasonable.
