Loved it!!!
By Joan, 10/12/11
"Lovingly restored" is a good description for the hote. We loved the colors, the comfortable chairs in the lobby, the board room (which we used), the full, fabulous southern breakfast that was included in the price of the hotel, the most comfortable mattress I'm slept on in a long time, the nearness to historic downtown and shops (easily walked), the bicycles available for use, the nearness to the bay (a street and nice park are between), the nearness to great seafood restaurants such as Dockside, and Sunset Grill, the easy-living front porch in the early evening listening to a local musician (wish I could give his name) with just his guitar, voice (nice), and knowledge of songs- current and standards, and perhaps best of all - the staff - maybe the best we have encountered - efficient, friendly, interesting, prompt, helpful - just plain likeable. Can't wait to go back!!!

Won't Stay Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/9/09
This Inn is NOT on the beach...you cannot sit in rockers on porch and enjoy because of busy HWY 98...it sits almost on top of it! One can hear the traffic at night. TV is old and no DVD player. Very over priced to not be on the beach

I'll be back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/6/09
In three weeks of traveling in the south this was arguably the best place we stayed. Steps from the white sand beach to stroll on. The room was 99 dollars, very spacious, king size bed, recliner with ottoman, non smoking, cable TV, jaccuzy tub, plenty of shampoo, soap and towels, a private porch with rocking chairs, robes and slippers to use to go to and from the heated pool, free internet access and 24 hr coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the breakfast room. Speaking of which, three meats, two cheeses and veggies in the made to order omelet, sausage, bacon, eggs, cereal, fruit, just name it, an unbelievable breakfast. The staff was the friendliest I've ever dealt with at an Inn / motel. Did I mention the Thirsty Goat (Bar) Great service nice people, I wanted to move in. We will go out of our way to stay there again even if it is one thousand miles from home). REO-n-MO

Perfect Getaway
By ElizabethK, 5/1/07
We stayed in the Presidentail Suite because it was the only room available. At 130.00 dollars a night, it was a steal! Room was amazing: giant bathtub fit my 5' 11'' inch frame, two TV's, good soaps/shampoos, bathrobes, and newly re-furbished decor. The INCLUDED breakfast is delicious: buiscuts and gravy, make your own waffles, sausage, scrambled eggs, cold cereal, milk, juice, coffee, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola bars, muffins, and toasted bagels. It ain't no "continental" crud! The in-house bar was well stocked with just about every beer and liquor imaginable, including 5 different draft beers, one a local brew. Free bicycle rental is included and the hotel is within 3 blocks of two parks, and the "historic" section of town with a few resteraunts, a quaint bookshop, and a few gift shops. We found the tiny beach community of our dreams! THE friendliest people, good food, and excellent accomodations. The staff at the Port Inn went out of thier way to find us phone numbers for fishing guides, to make reccomendations for placed to eat and shops to see. We can't wait to go back!

What a cute Inn!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/06
The Port Inn in such a very nice place to stay. My family and I stayed for a little over a week and had an amazing experience. The people that work there were very helpful in finding us places to visit and things to do around town. The rooms very very clean and breakfast was wonderful. My husband and I very much enjoyed the bar and live music they had. Would recommend to anyone to stay here.

Great Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/05
The Heated Pool, we went swimming in November. The room was clean and comfortable. We walked downtown and spent some time in the shops. It was a great getaway from the busy town we live in. There wasn't coffee in the room but there was coffee near the front desk that was available at all times. We will definately come back next year.
