Travelers beware! Esp. women.

Without a doubt, this was the absolute worst motel experience I have ever had. Very, very strange and creepy place. The room was horribly dirty and smelly, *the window had no lock on it*, and the bathroom was so small that I could barely turn around in it. And despite the claim that this was a 'pets allowed' (for a small fee) establishment, the proprietor informed me after I came back from dinner that I could *not* leave my pets alone in the room while I was gone. Hmmm...so the animals are supposed to sit in the 120-degree car while I attend an event on St. George Island the next day? Needless to say, I left after the first night--much to my inconvenience. I did not feel safe or welcome there at all. Or even clean, for that matter.
The motel grounds, incidentally, look like an amusement park that went out of business 20 years ago. Oh, and how could I forget? If you're planning to stay here, make sure you're not allergic to peacocks, because there are many of them just wandering around screaming on the premises.
If there was an option to give this a rating of "0" stars instead of 1 in each category, I would have.
