Sandpiper Inn, Chauvin

We have been visiting the Sand Piper Inn for three years. We always look forward to going back when we leave. Shirley and Tommy are great people always making sure you have what you need. My wife and I after a day on the water we like to hang out on the dock have a glass of wine, listen to music and visit. Last time we were their we prepared blackened Red Fish on the dock with Hawaiian salad for Tommy and Shirley in appreciation for what they do for us. What a nice afternoon. Looking forward to our Sept visit. Cooking Teriaki on the dock with maybe two glasses of wine.

Everything the people are great especially Shirley and her husband Tommy. If you need anything or if something is not working corectly you only have to call because they have maintaince workers on site. There is a coverd boat slip, place to clean fish and it is all over water. The rooms are bery large and the cleanest you would ever want. This is the only place to stay if you want the 4 rating of places to stay in Cocodrie, Louisiana.

I've known the owners for years. They always make you feel like family. Just wished I had gotten to go down there more.

This place is exactly as it appears from the outside....it's more of a spartan camp than an inn, but all of our rooms where clean, didn't smell, a/c blew cold, tv worked and the maid service was very good. They do have limited boat slips and a cutting board on the dock which make cleaning fish a little nicer. If you have a crowd with you it is especially nice because you can take advantage of their enclosed gazebo that sports an outdoor grill, outdoor stove, counter space for preparing and a table to eat on. A great deal for the money. It is enough to keep a group of us coming back every year. Bottom line....it's perfect for the guys and most gals, but more needy folks probably won't care for it too much.
