Longhorn Ranch Motel, Terlingua

If you are expecting the JW Marriott head back to Dallas other wise this is a nice clean motel to spend some time at while you explore the Terlingua/ Big Bend area. The owners are the nicest people that you could ever meet and will point you in the right direction for some great sight seeing. Make sure that you eat in their wonderful restaurant, you will not find finer Mexican food any where.

The rude manager/owner quoted me the wrong price, double booked our reservation, and tried to put us in her son's RV that smelled like dog piss. No potable water and crappy food at the overpriced restaurant. I get that it's a different way of life out there, Terlingua time and whatever but I still expect a friendly Texas smile, good customer service, and quality for my money. You won't find any of that here.

My husband and I stayed here in March, 2009. It doesn't give a very good first impression but we found it pleasant and comfortable. The couple who own it do everything themselves. The restaurant attached serves very good Mexican food. They have the best chiles rellanos we have ever eaten. The mattresses weren't the best but were okay It would be a good idea to ask for a coffee maker to take to your room because they generally are not open for breakfast. There is a microwave and refrigerator so we were able to have breakfast in our room. This is good because the nearest breakfast restaurant is 11 miles. We stayed 4 nights and were pleased with out stay. There is not much to choose from out there and this place is okay and the price was moderate. You won't go wrong staying here.
