Bridge Side Cabins and Marina, Grand Isle

four walls, one shower and one toilet. 2 beds, no drawers, no night stand, no refrigerator, no phone. had to put everything on the floor. Beds were hard and queen size. Oh yea, a tv, whoopee. If the weather is good, you will stay outside. if it is not good, you will be miserable.

I've stayed at many of the places on Grand Isle over the years, including the Sandpiper, Breakers, Blue Dolphin Inn, and Bridgeside. This past Memorial Day weekend I noticed that many of the people in the rooms had brought their dogs with them and were keeping the dogs in their rooms. It made me wonder what breed was sleeping on my pillow the night before we arrived. Also, there were several kids riding around at 2 am on golf carts blasting music in the rv area, and my aunt and uncle who were staying there said that they didn't sleep a wink. One thing for everyone to be aware of who are from out of state or have never been to Grand Isle--don't expect to stay at the Hampton Inn. The rooms here are meant for sleeping in after a day of fishing and that's it.

Best place to stay in Grand Isle! Clean Rooms and cabins. Great Location, and they have everything! Beach, boat launch, marina, fishing docks, etc. Only bad part is that during the summer months you better have advance reservations or you won't get a room. Generally booked through the summer by May.

It's been a while since I've been here, but I have very fond memories. This was always a yearly trip for our family -- kept everyone happy. No time constraints, just very laid back and relaxing. I can remember sitting on the old bridge, watching my kids fish, catching a glimpse of the dolphins jumping in the water. The many fun times under the pavilion. Just a great, stress free time had by all. The cabins are great -- everything you need is there. We used to bring extra stuff from home, to cut down the cost of buying it at the little grocery store. But we always ended up shopping there anyway. While the guys would go fishing, some of the ladies would do the crabbing. I always enjoyed setting the crab nets and then going back and seeing how many crabs were in the nets. Not a fancy place, but very friendly and family oriented. Everyone is so nice. A good time was always had by all. I highly recommend BridgeSide.
