The place is GREAT!!!!!!
By Kristine, 08/28/09
The people, the location and the rivers are really good. The rooms have been redone and are clean. They now have a brand new Tiki Bar and a huge deck. The new owners, Bob and John, have done a great job!! If you want a place to get away for it all, Angler's is it!!!! Can't wait to go back!

Catch and kill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/09
It is a crime that the website has photos of all the dead fish on a stringer. The boat ramp has a sign asking for voluntary catch and release. The fishing in the Rainbow River is extremely degraded due to the catch and kill. The photos on the website only encourage catch and kill. Shame.

Under new ownership, since September 2007
By Ingrid, 12/14/08
Angler's Resort has undergone a full makeover since September 2007. We can understand the old comments posted in 2006 and early 2007, as the place had been BADLY neglected prior to our taking over. All motel rooms have been refurbished with new furniture and bedding, and are now CLEAN. Visitors are a few steps away from the river, and have access to rental boats. Dunnellon's historic district is a few blocks away, with quaint shops and eateries, and a variety of home-town street festivals throughout the year. Rainbow Springs State Park is a few miles away, and is the headsprings of one of Florida's most beautiful Outstanding Florida Waterways. Area fishing is awesome year-round! Swimming, tubing, and snorkeling will cool you off in the summertime. Canoeing and kayaking will get you up close and personal with nature. No, we're not the Hyatt, but you'll enjoy a stay at our friendly, clean, affordable place. Angler's Resort has been in business since 1950, and you'll enjoy it if you like to get back to nature and enjoy the outdoors.

Skid row room
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
If this is the same hotel which is right off the bridge keep on going. We took a look at the room and turned around and walked out. There were dead roaches in the shower the paint was peeling off the walls and the over all look was nasty. When you think of a room that is rented by the hour this hotel comes to mind. I would have been afraid to sleep in the bed or sit on the couch much less use the bathroom. Drive about 20 mins more and get a decent room.

would not stay
By judy, 07/22/06
On July 6th we arrived and were planning on staying 2 nights we were forced to cancel one night because of unexpected plans but when we finally got to go into the room we decided to take the loss of one night and go elswhere. The room was disgusting. The shower curtain was covered with mold and the window sills in the bedrooms were moldy The chair in the living area was extremely dirty I really don't think a fisherman would even stay there. I realize this a fisherman's motel but it seems to me most people would at least like a clean place to stay.

Don't do it!!!! Don't go!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/17/06
It was three days of hell. Where do I start? I don't think they had a vacuum because there was flith all over. The bottom of the door in the bathroom was pealing at the bottom with mold and mildew. The tile on the bathroom floor needed a scrub brush and commet. The beds were horrible. We ended up going up the road to the Dollar General and buying our own towels, sheets, pillows, and cleaning supplies. On their web site the pictures look so beutiful. I don't know when they were taken, but it is not like that now. Oh, and they advertise heat in the rooms. Well, as long as you call the oven heat. OK, then there's heat. There was no maid service daily. We had to take our own garbage to the dumpster. Even if it was "Just the Guys" on a fishing trip, You are better off getting a tent and camping outdoors.

Country Charmer!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/13/05
This cute resort is located right on the Withlacooche River, with access to lake roussau and the infamous Rainbow river, with tons of fishing, canoeing and tons people floating down the river! Definately a nice destination to take the fam. or just to get away, with a few quaint restaurants within walking distance. If you are going to be in this side of Dunnellon, I would suggest taking a few hours to relax and enjoy the sight of the fish and possibly a gator!
