Kings Bay Lodge, Crystal River

During our scalloping trip last year, we took up at the Kings Bay Lodge. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel, this isn't the place for you. Kings Bay Lodge offers more of an "old Florida" style. The grounds were beautiful and conveniently located right on the water (if you have a boat you would like to dock). The rooms are a little dated, but the walk-in shower and efficiency kitchen makes up for it. Unlike the Best Western, when you come in from scalloping/fishing (which ever seems to head in at the same time), the shower's there never had adequate water pressure and the water was always cold. *Plus, you are within walking distance from Crackers* My family (2 adults & 2 children) love this place! This is our place when we come to Crystal River for our scalloping adventures.

Called to inquire availibility. First time had to leave a message. Received call back o next day stating had 5 rooms available. Called 4 times, leaving one message to make reservation and one time spoke to someone that would give me a call a back. Called back another 3 times until I received a 'real person' only to be told there was nothing available DID NOT EVEN OFFER ANOTHER DATE. Guess they do not need the business.
