River Wilderness Waterfront, Everglades City

The place did have a great view from the screened in porch. It was fairly clean, just quite dated. When we arrived at 5PM, there was a note on the office telling us what room to go to. Just figured they were out to dinner. Went back to office later, still no one. In the AM, we looked for the free continental breakfast. There was coffee, two 4 oz cans of juice in fridge, nothing else. Went to the office again, no one. Later in the day, no one. That night, no one. So we had no clean towels and no coffee for the AM. Went to check out and there still was no one in the office. In my book, this is a pretty poor way to do business. Also, the bed could not be slept in by two because of the caved in center.

Excellent location, pet friendly, and the buildings and grounds are regularly being upgraded. We have stayed at other nearby motels but this place is the best so far. The screened-in porch overlooking the lagoon in back is top notch. My wife and I (with our large dog) have stayed here maybe half a dozen times.

My husband and I went there this 4th of July weekend. We were welcomed very well. We had Juice and cinnamon roll as welcome. The property sits five feet from the water. You can park your car and boat right under the apartment. The dock and ramp are walking distance from the villas. The back porch overlooks the lake, it's magnificent. Inside the villa is spacious, but all the furniture are from the '70s. There has been no upgrades at all. The wall paint and the couch fabric had long been faded... the same with the carpet.But all that aside, the bed was too small for the two of us and so uncomfortable.... We had a wonderful time relaxing on the porch though.. it was nice and quiet.... I suggest everyone to bring their mosquito repellers when they come to this city....

This is indeed the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day city life. My boyfriend told me about this place all the time and we finally made a family vacation there in March of '07. I absolutely loved it. The back porch overlooking the water was unbelievable. I think we spent more time out there than inside the villa. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a while and relax. We are already planning another vacation this summer.

The rooms were spacious. The deck overlooking the river, outstanding! Staff was nice. Pet friendly!!! ($10.00 per pet per night) The price was right!! My only complaint was that we could not stay longer because they were booked. Not recommended for people looking for night life and parties. Just a kick back place.

This waterfront motel is absolutely wonderful. The balcony overlooks the waterfront and it's beautiful both sunrise and sunset. Went on the 4th of July and we just sat on the balcony with the fireworks directly above us reflecting on the water having a great time. Don't miss this wonderful hidaway.

We made reservations for a family vacation. When we arrived they did not have lodging available. Proprietor indicated she had forgotten to write our information down. Nice to show up with confirmed reservations only to have no where to stay!!!
