Old Wooden Bridge Guest Cottages & Marina, Big Pine Key

As with any hotel, we have encountered bed bugs. Please be assured it was an isolated incedent and was promptly taken care of by a licensed and insured exterminater. We are happy to say we have had no further issues. Thank you, The Staff at OWB

The bed bugs were definitely a deal breaker. We had to move to different cottages with single rooms, small kitchen, bad wiring , leaking refrigerator with rust all over doors, stove leaking propane gas (had to keep windows open all time and run air conditioning to keep dark cottage vented) told people in office and did not seem to care. 9" tv did not work and they replaced it with 12" tv that worked badly and had to jiggle the knobs to turn in on manually as ty remote did not work. Vertical blinds were missing sections and maintenance man did not fix it complaining it is his day off and never came back while he was there during the week. This was my second year there and my sister has been there numerous times before and during this visit we decided it would be our last.

The best thing about Old Wooden Bridge Guest Cottages & Marina is the location, convenice, price, staff, and a place to hide! In a nut shell if you like going fishing, snorkling, bike riding, walking, boat riding or anything else on the water I would look at this as a choice for vacationing. If you are on a budget and have a boat I would recomend this place! Ok this is the draw back, the rooms are not too big but they are cottages. The pool is small but no crowd. This place is not for someone looking to sit around the place. This is for the outgoing type looking for a clean safe place to eat, sleep and adventure. Please note, cold AC and alot of Key Deer make this OUTSTANDING place to vacation.

This is a place where you can go and relax by the pool, fish from the bridge, meet friendly other vacationers, see beautiful Key Deer every night and day, as well as roaming Iguanas. It's a home away from home. Yes you do have to take care of yourself, but the service was great as far as providing us with the things we needed. Whether it was directions to a really good restaurant or giving us towels. We traveled down with family and stayed in one of the larger rooms. Other members of our family stayed in the smaller room which was just as nice. All the cabins that our family stayed in had a couch, TV with cable, kitchen table and chairs, and all kitchen things you need. The stove could have been bigger, but for a fish camp it did the job. The location is well off the main highway and there is not a lot of traffic, which has to go slow at all times as to make sure as to not hit the wandering deer. If you bring a boat you can dock it there and then you have access to either the gulf or the ocean for fishing. We have caught fish every year that we have been there.
