Spindrift Tropical Hideaway, Key West

Spindrift is small pink motel a few blocks from the Southermost Point of the US. It has a good Italian restaurant next door, and it is close to Duvall St if you're into the party scene. That's the only good thing I have to say about the place. It seemed fairly clean but was very dated! The beds squeaked horribly. The square-shaped layout only left an interior view of the other motel rooms and the pool area. There is very little parking. I had to park on the next block. Only miniblinds are covering the windows, so anyone can peek into your room. The bathrooms are meant for people 5 feet tall. I'm 6' 4" and actually had to stand outside the tiny shower and hang my upper body into the shower to shampoo my head. Water went everywhere. The showerhead only came to chest level on me. This place is one of the cheaper motels for a reason. The room was split into 2 bed areas seperated by a small, complete kitchen. The only TV was an ancient tube TV that sat atop the refrigerator! Only 1 bed had a view of the TV. Don't go cheap if you go to Key West. Spend a little extra and enjoy yourself! Avoid the Spindrift motel at all costs.
