Best vacation always
By ,
The people who work at El Moro Tower are the nicest people, and they are trustworthy and family oriented. I can only describe it this way: ' Your wish is my command ' and that is from the Front Desk management to the Bellboys. The Rooms and suits are spacious with a great deal of closet space, to the bathrooms. The Rooms are very clean, and the kitchen is well stocked with large pots and pans, and plenty utensils. The beds are a little hard, but have improved over the years with extra cushioning. We have been coming to the El Moro Tower since it was constructed, The Linen and towels are changed daily. The elevators are in good working conditions, no fear there. ): The Restaurants have a good kitchens, and offer different menus each day. Most of the food is well cooked and flavorful. The Pools are large and well cared for, and the Kids Club offers entertainment to the children for many hours. It gives parents a chance to relax by the pools. If You have a maintenance problem springs up in your apt, or room, all you have to do is call housekeeping and report it, the usually knock on your door with in a few minutes, ready to fix the problem. I have taken my three grandchildren to El Moro, when the were small, and they were entertained royally. One of my grandchildren was hurt at the pool, by walking into a uncovered pool-clean-hole, the doctor was there within 5 minutes, and taken by taxi to the first aid station, and cared for. The El Moro paid for his complete medical bill, and treated him like royalty afterwards. They brought huge fruit baskets, treated him to free room service while he was laid up. They totally spoiled him, and he loved every minute of his vacation. I am very glad we purchased our Time Share at El Moro, we have had the best 4 weeks of vacation we spend here every year. I like to thank the staff of the El Moro for all the nice and wonderful things they have done for us for all the years we have stayed at this wonderful resort. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE SERVED US SO WELL. ):

This place has deteriorated big time!!
By ,
We bought a time share with El Cid in 2002 when we strolled through on a cruise ship stop. This is our 1st return in 7 yrs. Wow! What a mess! We were booked on the top floor (28th), arrived at our room that absolutely reeked of tobacco smoke. While waiting to be moved to another unit, the maid told us that she simply can't get the smell out of that room. We were moved one floor down to a smaller unit, spent 1 night there. Shredded sheets, door knobs fell apart in my hands, balconies blocked off (no access), torn curtains, dresser drawers falling apart,no internet access, remotes to tv held together by masking tape (didn't work). Rusty fridge, disgusting toaster. I ran the shower and rust colored water came out. We actually considered buying sheets for the place because they were so disgusting. Next day, we were moved to another room. It was better but still not satisfactory. No wireless internet acess in rooms. You must go to the lobby where you will no doubt be hounded by time share salespersons. They have two computers to use down there, but the times I wanted to use them, I had to ask the Resort employees to get off of them so that I could use a computer. Then they had the nerve to want to sell us more points! As an owner, I am infuriated that I'm stuck with this time share. Also, as an owner, I can't even use their gym without shelling out $10 per day. One of the salespersons approached me and begged me to write negative reviews because they can't get management to fix things there.

This hotel was great !!!!!!
By ,
I cannot think of one thing I did not like about this hotel. It was so nice,  the staff was so great...even Fidel down at the pool who put up with us the whole 9 days.    There were 12 of us and we had a ball.  The food was wonderful,  the location was great especially since we walked to different restaurant s almost every night.  We had breakfast and lunch in the hotel which were excellent.   I had room service one morning which was prompt and great.  I even took pictures of it,cuz it looked so pretty.   Upon arrival my husband had 2 birthday cakes and balloons  put up in our rooms with the helpful staff.   I would recommend the El Cid El Moro Towers to everyone....but forget the El Cid Granada....pretty plain and not on the beach although the staff was very friendly and helpful.   The El Cid at the Marina looked very nice when we went there for a short visit.   We didn't mind the timeshare presentations cuz we got booze and $100 a couple to spend in the hotel...that was great..........I love Mexico and so we hired a open air car to take us on a tour one day.  Loved to see how the people live and the colorful storefronts as well as the downtown market.  That church was beautiful.  We walked all the way up to the lighthouse..wow good thing we were halfway in shape...Took very pretty pictures of it at night from on top the hill where all the nice homes are.  Would definitely stay at El Cid El Moro again.  Felt nice and safe there and the maid, an older lady who spoke no English was soooo nice we couldn't help but tip her well.   I bet she spent 2 hours cleaning our 2 timeshares....

A little mislead from the start
By ,
DISLIKES: The resort should be more forthcoming with what exactly is included under the all-inclusive plan. For example, only house drinks are covered (daquiris & margaritas & so on-draft Corona & Pacifico). If you think you are going to have a Bud light or Jack Daniels, they are NOT included with the all-inclusive plans. Also, some of the restaurants at the resort are not included. Honestly, the food was horrible. We ended up eating off the resort after about 3 days of our stay. The time-share sales people are pushy and bothersome; I avoided the lobby as much as possible. We went to one presentation, but they wanted us to go on another one. When we said no, they got salty about it. The beds are hard as rocks-seriously no bounce at all. The resort had advertised that there's a washer & driver on-site but there's not. We underpacked and had to use the resort's cleaning service. It cost us $50 (American money) for a small load. They leave you a coffee packet in your room each morning, but they don't tell you that you are going to be charged for it. LIKES: The hotel and restaurant staff at the resort were incredibly friendly. All of the facilities are very clean and well kept. The view of the city, the ocean and the mountain are incredible.

Great Place to Relax
By ,
This was a great hotel. When we first arrived our room wasn't ready so they gave us an upgraded room for free. The food for the most part was pretty good with the exception of the chicken "tamale" at the La Cascada restaurant, it was really a chicken leg and wing still on the bone wrapped up in a banana leaf and the rice was absolutely disguisting. Everywhere else to eat at the hotel was great. The staff was really nice and the shops were cute and had a variety of things to choose from including cuban cigars which my husband took full advantage of. The only gripe that I have is that when my husband and I went to lay out on the beach we spent most of our time saying "no gracias" to the multitude of peddlers selling "almost free" items, they also bugged us when we ate on the patio of the restaurant located outdoors. The other guests seemed to range in age from their mid to late thirties to their silver years. My husband being 31 and myself being 29 were pretty much the youngsters so if you are looking for a party, an allnighter or some hot chicks I suggest you go to Cancun or Cozumel. It is a fantastic place to relax and catch some sun. We are already planning our next trip there when my husband comes home from overseas for good.

Beautiful location
Loved the pool areas although could get loud at times. Beach out front was very nice - north of the golden zone so not as busy but within walking distance. Watch out for Time share salespeople in the front but usually polite if you say no - nada. Walking distance to lots of great restaurants so all inclusive isn't really needed unless you are going to drink lots....

Really lacked a place to get out of the cold.
By ,
We stayed at the El Cid Castilla in January 2006. The rooms were small and definitely not something to write home about. The beds were small and hard, but I'd expected that after reading the reviews prior to going. The service was also poor and there was no place to go after dinner except your room. After the first week the entertainment was the repetitive, like normal. We were with another couple and tried to play cards at one of the tour guide tables but found it to be cold and windy. The only bar open in the evening was too small for the size of the resort and always packed and noisy. The service was also terrible but we went at times just to have a place to gather out of the cold as the rooms were too small. The best part about the place was the heated pool and the activity crew they had at that time. They usually had a good aquasize work out and a few games - bingo, ping-pong tournaments, etc. We each ended up winning either a t-shirt or small bottle of tequila in a small beach bag. They weren't worth much but it just made it fun. I would consider going back except for the cold windy evenings with lack of indoor places to go. I for sure would not consider it a four star, more like three star at best, and it's definitely over priced in comparison to other resorts that we've visited.

Definitely will go back!

Pool was great- fun slides, rocks to jump off and very good pool drinks to keep you cool. Restaurant offers a variety of food selections including specials, fresh fish along with a full service buffet. Resort is children friendly providing great service and beautiful beach. Only issues is that the tennis courts need to be re-surfaced.

never again
By ,
We have been to Mazatlan many many times and always stayed at Pueblo Bonito or Rivera. The room we expensive and the water only got hot certain times of the day and the safes in either suite didn't work. Could hear running water thru the pipes all night and the beds were like sleeping on concrete. We finally got rest when we got home. Never will stay at this hotel agian,
