Flamingo Inn, South Padre Island

My husband and I have stayed at this place several times in the past 2 years. Each time has been a pleasant stay, the rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. Other than the beds not being as firm as I like (but that's just my personal prefer, this really is a great value hotel. I noticed that all the negative remarks were made before 2010, and it is my understanding from speaking to different staff members that this place was under different mgt. back then. So if you think this hotel is still "bad," give them another try; I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Had a wonderful stay all you people complain because you want your money back and have a free vacation but this is a way better place to stay then even a high class motel. Very satisfied and will be staying there again. Very nice staff and and courteous too. Stayed there for 4 nights.

Manager very rood have no maners at all the place is very dirt, need better help and fron desk don,t now what they are doing 2 years ago had a very good manager on side very nice lady place was always clean and smil all the time now it looks like some one die in that place smels bad worker are very rood bad bad service .

Our experience staying here was horrible. They almost ruined our sons wedding. When you are getting married, the last thing you want to worry about are the motel rooms for all of your guests. Rooms were reserved well ahead of time, and every time one of our wedding guests arrived my husband had to go to the office to argue with the managementbecause they supposedly didn't have any rooms. That's a bunch of garbage. We went down there all the way from Chicago for this wedding and they caused many headaches.

they don't honor reservation prices, and the customer services is horrible. had to stay at another hotel for three times the price because the island was full and they wouldn't honor reservations from expedia...

The handicap room was very spacious and enjoyable. With our constant medical bills, it was a treat to be able to spend 2 nights in comfort without having to worry about extravagance. Pool is a little small and cramped.

Very dissapponted with this hotel and there honesty! We stayed 1 night and they over charged us by 150 and refused to correct it we had to fight it with our bank. I have never had that experience before with any hotel and will never stay there again!

This Smoke Free room smelled Very Bad! The air conditioner did not work, the phone did not work, there was no ice in the ice machine, and the pool is very small. The Beach Acces is like two blocks away, but you need to walk through a very narrow pathway lined with dead brush. If you get stuck in the pathway with someone returning from the beach, someone will get scratched from all the brush. Our room was horribly hot, there wasn't another room available to move to, and we were told we could not receive a credit or a refund and were welcomed to leave. PS The barbecue pit is bolted to the floor next to the dumpster.

we have stayed here once before (in 2003), and are staying here again next week for the SPI bikefest. Clean, helpful staff, convenient to everything and esp accomodating to bikers and the trailers. hot tub feels great on the feet after a long day of riding boots.
