stay away

Nice location, Waimea is cool and beautiful unlike the other parts of the Big Island. The Management if terrible at best hostile at other times. Traveler beware.

What Happened?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/07
Big rooms and peaceful. Grounds going wild and really no service other than check in and check out. Appears owner milking property until it can be divided up and sold.

Nice B&B
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/05
The Jacaranda Inn was the house Lawrence Rockefeller lived in when he was overseeing the building of the Mauna Kea Resort. It is a very interesting place and translates well into a B&B. The rooms are large and very interesting, each one is unique. The bathrooms are BIG, ours had shower with stadium seating. Obviously, Larry entertained the very rich and the rooms reflected that. The house is tastefully decorated and it is located close to the great eateries of Waimea. Given its age, it is a little musty. The grounds are interesting and pretty but not over-the-top. The b&b is a bit pricey but you really should experience how the other side lived, at least once. BTW the proprietor is a very nice and helpful person. She make excellent breakfasts. I recommend this b&b. Bill
