interesting
By patty pickett, 7/28/11
my husband and I decided it would be fun to stay here for a night..when we got there we were informed that we couldn't check in until 4 or 4:30..the young guy wasn't sure when ,they had a gathering after a funeral there. they told us we would get a free tour but because of the gathering we would have to wait till the morning for the 9:00 tour. the lady that owned it gave us part of the tour early before breakfast so we did see most of the house,( since we were leaving earlier than 9)..our room was interesting..we stayed in the family room ,I liked the decorations, but it was real dusty and smelled like old stuff..a little air freshener would have been nice..we couldn't find a waste basket ,no air conditioning ,no tv ,the breakfast was good and the owner was real informitive. the outside of the house was in disrepair and being fixed when we were there.

Somewhere in Time

Wonderful architecture and amazing home that is still privately owned but open for tours daily during the summer. The price was very reasonable and the house is right in the middle of the historic Butte walking tour and a couple blocks from the Underground tour. There are also very nice restaurants within walking distance. Butte is truly one of the best kept secrets in the world. Lovely.

Get taste of living like a copper king in 1800s
By steve 14, 7/24/08
Don't stay here if you want TV, warm bath, soft bed, etc. Do stay if you want the authentic feel of life in the 1800s. Do stay if you want to get a sense of the incredible wealth the copper kings had, and how they lavished it on themselves and their families. The hosts are really helpful in explaining the history of the mansion and the Clark family. Very friendly.
