Super 8 Kountze Big Thicket, Kountze

I guess the main thing is to just avoid the whole town! Kountze is a depressed community, and improvement appeared unlikely. As for the Super 8, it wasn't. During our 3+ weeks the advertised free internet access worked once. This may not seem inportant but for us it was because we needed internet to do our work. When we inquired at the front desk we were told, "someone is coming to fix it". Well, no one ever did and we've decided to relocate to another town. Another problem was mice and an unkempt pool. However, I will say that if you are visiting the Big Thicket National Forest and don't need internet but only a dry place to sleep, then you may be satisfied with the "Mediocre 8".
